Done Right Transport

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

My old car died and I could not make it to work. After 4 days off work, my family decided to send me a Grand Cherokee from Florida & I started to look for transportation companies. After getting a ton of replies, I decided to go with Done Right because of their name & the price was comparable to others. Also, everybody else was telling me it would take from 3 to 7 days for pick up and I told Danny that I needed the car by Sunday or I would have to make other arrangements. I made the call on 1/21/2010 & I expected the car on 1/24/2010. I explained to him more than once the importance of getting the car in that time frame, I had already lost 4 days of work & would not be able to pay my rent if I did not get back to work. He assured me that I would get it on Sunday 1/24/2010 & all he needed was a deposit of $100, out of the total of $699, by CC to hold the space for my car. This was fine by me because my sister was paying for the transport, I did not have the money.

Later that day, I got a call from someone that sounds Asian, never got the name & I could hardly understand her, to ask me when she could send the truck to pick up the car. I told her that it was taken to place new tires on it & they did not have them in stock & they would do it next day Friday, 1/22/2010. So she scheduled the pick up for 1/22/2010 at about 3pm. In this conversation, she mentioned that delivery would be Wednesday, 1/27/2010 & I told her that this did not work for me that I needed it by Sunday, 1/24/2010 so I would not miss any more work.

She pressed me for an answer if I was going or not & I told her that under the circumstances no but that I needed to talk to Danny to give her a final answer so I hung up & called Danny. When I told Danny what had happened, he assured me that it would be there by Sunday, 1/24/2010 & that it was common for the transport to say it would take longer because of anything that may happen on the way that may delay them. So again, I explained to him the importance of having the car here by Sunday, 1/24/2010 or otherwise, I would make other arrangements & he said not to worry, they would be there by Sunday.

After that I signed the contract, they charged my sister CC $100 & I was waiting for the call that the car got picked up. The call came and that the day after Saturday 1/23/2010, they picked it up after 9am & that's when I knew I had been screwed. I called Danny several times & the calls did not get through because he was on another call. After I'm tired of this, I called the company # & got some other guy, Anthony I think. I explained what was going on & he said he would look into it, we all know how that went. It's now Wednesday, 1/27/2010, I have missed work again because they called me yesterday to say they were coming by noon today & to have the money ready. I asked what money & they tell $600. I asked why & they tell me it is the balance & they want it cash, money order or bank check. I ask them why is not that taken from the CC & they tell me that brokers got theirs but they do not take CC's & here I thought that everything was to be taken from the CC.

Now, I have to use what money I had saved for the rent that is due the 1st & pay them or the car goes to storage. I just found out I'm not working with Done Right but somebody else of which I have no co. name or address. Noon gone by, I called them by 12:40 & they tell me the truck is in Connecticut about 160 miles, they will come as soon as possible. I know they won't make it by 4pm so I will miss another day of work getting the car register & the plates. Would I still have a job after I get the car? Would I have a house if I don't get the rent money by the 1st? I could have had the car driven from Fl & it would have been here in time & that option was taken from me. Done Right screwed me & created additional problems for me & whoever company that is making the delivery has only one concern, money. My car is hostage to their whims.

Car was delivered on time with no "transport" issues. However, there were "financial" issues. We are still awaiting the $25 return to our Visa. We were quoted $575 to transport our Civic to Louisiana and we ended up paying $600.00. The $100 deposit to the company and an additional $500 to the driver. There was a lot of confusion on the date of delivery with respect to the amount we were supposed to pay to the driver IN CASH. Done Right (WRONG) assured us that we would be reimbursed $25.

We called in two weeks ago and was informed that our refund was in accounting. We also called several times this week. It has been a month since the date of delivery on the car and that has not happened. A fundamental business practice of reliability, honesty, and integrity is all we asked for.

When we call the office for answers they give us the run-around about who is in charge and who we should speak with. IF you are smart, YOU WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We are a very easy going couple and we do not require much, but we can not let these people get away with ignoring fundamental business practices. PLEASE BE HONEST WITH YOUR CONSUMERS DONE RIGHT! We were overcharged. The driver would not release our vehicle without us paying him $500. We were only supposed to pay him $475.

I received a quote from Done Right for the transport of my car. I gave a cc deposit to agree to the terms; however, the phone numbers on the contract were not accurate for the company. I called and asked about company license number and address, and they refused to provide. I cancelled my credit card before it was charged and told them that I didn't want to move ahead. On June 5, someone attempted to pick up my vehicle that was contracted from that company. I refused after realizing the situation.

The company responds: Please accept our apology. Unfortunately, your complaint has some truth. Since your complaint's all issues have been addressed, all our phone numbers are working, and our licensing info can be found on our website. Mind you, we never kept your deposit and fully refunded your credit card.
