My inquiry is concerning a purchase that I made in September 2009 from the Cleveland Ohio based company Auto Repair Warranty. It appears that this company is no longer in business and has scammed me out of approximately $1,600.00. I have tried many times through phone, email, fax and a certified letter to contact them regarding a possible claim. On 1/15/09, I discovered that the driver side power mirror was not working. This would be the first time I ever used the warranty, however I have not received a response to any of my attempts. I spent $1700 on the warranty (I paid $900 up front and made three installment payments which total about $210).
Also, in 2006, I spend $2,600 on a warranty for another car I own, which is still in effect until 2011 (I estimate the prorated value is approximately $400 - $500). My research about Auto Repair Warranty has produced many complaints via Internet forums dedicated to scams and ripoffs which on various websites indicated Auto Repair Warranty as a scam. Even the Cleveland OH, BBB rated them a "D". They have my money, and I have nothing. Your website even suggest Auto Repair Warranty as a company to avoid.
