Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I purchased a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt from this dealership in March 2010. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I began noticing a noise in the front end of the car. When I signed odometer disclosure, I was told that the odometer actually had 1000 miles more on the car, than originally stated. Since this time, I have been attempting to get this problem fixed with the dealership and Power Chevrolet in Mesa.

A Service Manager that I spoke with told me that they would not fix it because the miles were over 36,000. However, if the miles were the original miles presented when purchased the car, then it would not be over. I was told by Dave in service dept. that he had spoken to Tim at Power Chevrolet, and that they would goodwill the replacement part that would cost $700.00 to fix. I took my car in this morning, and was then told by Power Chevrolet that they could not fix the problem because this was a fleet car. I feel that I am being punished because of the mistake in the odometer reading, and that noone wants to fit the bill for this amount. Again, I have had this vehicle for less than 90 days.

I am a single mom with a daughter that will be 16 in March 2010. She will be driving the vehicle as well as me. Tires are the most safe/unsafe part of a vehicle. I have been informed that the tread is abnormal. This is very concerning for me especially in a SUV. I had never driven a SUV before so I was not sure if this was a common noise. Finally, I took it into a dealer to have it looked at.

I work 3 jobs and have very little time to deal with dealerships/tires/etc. I have tried to get new tires put on the vehicle by Cardinale Way. It should have never come off their lot with bad tires. They should have also informed me of the other items that needed to be fixed prior to purchasing the vehicle. Now it is leaking something. I would really like to have something done about this. I should not have to take a new car into the shop every week or so for something. I know that I purchased it used, but I have never had such an issue with a vehicle in my life. Below is a timeline of the events thus far. Please help. I don't have the time or the money to be going into shops to get a car that I have owned for a little over a month fixed. They should have made sure that it was a good car to begin with.

On 1/18/2010, I purchased a 2008 Mercury Mariner from Cardinale Way Mazda. There were no outstanding issues discussed that need to be taken care of. Mileage was 34668. While driving home that night, I noticed a loud noise coming from the tires. On 1/19/2010, I requested an Auto Check report. It comes back clean with a 92 score.

On 1/25/2010, I took it to San Tan Ford to have it looked at. Mileage in was 35005, and mileage out was 35014. They replaced wheel bearing and I was informed that tires were cupped. They recommended new tires and an alignment. They kept the car overnight. I called Cardinale Way to let them know what was going on and they sent me to the supervisor of the shop. I left a message and never received a call back. On 2/2/2010, I called Cardinale Way once again and finally reached the supervisor and set up a time to come in to have them look at it.

On 2/5/2010, I took back to Cardinale Way to have them look at it and see why San Tan would say that and to have them fix it. Mileage was 35369. They told me that the axle bearing was making the noise and that the tires were completely safe. At this time, they informed me that when they did the preliminary inspection on the car they noticed the noise of the tires, a missing washer fluid cap, both of the back window engines possibly going out, etc. I was never informed of any of these items. I left there a few hours later and they had not done anything with it. They told me to take it into Ford to have warranty work done.

On 2/9/10, I took it to Earnhardt Ford. Mileage in/out was 35535. They kept it overnight to fix the back window engines and try to figure out what is going on with the tire noise. They replaced the missing washer fluid cap. They concluded that the tires had abnormal wear with the rear left one being the worst and recommended new tires. On 2/22/2010, I noticed a pink puddle of fluid on my garage door floor in the morning. On 2/24/2010, I am taking the car into Ford dealership again to have them look at the leak. I will not take it to Cardinale Way because I don't trust them.

I have had to miss time at all 3 jobs.
