I am hoping you can help me, my 75 year old mother purchased a used car from Anderson Honda, Palo Alto one month ago and it broke down on Friday with a blown head gasket! Here is why I am contacting you - I went with her on a Wednesday, we looked at a 2001 Honda Accord - she liked it but was nervous to buy on the spot and wanted a day to think about it.

She went back the next day with my brother (I had to work) to buy the car and was told that their parts guy bought that car but they had another one just like it but it was a 1999. She bought that car as is and now one month later it has a blown head gasket. The mechanic she took it to has stated that if they looked at the car before selling it they would have seen the problem. The manager Thomas Vu is claiming buyer beware, that she knew what she was getting, basically tough!

I am thinking, bait and switch - I think they totally took advantage of her and now she had to pay at least $2000.00 to fix this car that she's had a month! My mother is semi-retired and on a fixed income and does not have an extra $2000.00 laying around to fix this car, please help is there anything we can do? Thanks so much for your time.

Blown Head gasket repair is $2000.00+
