my volvo has been hesitating on acceleration. i told my husband who is a mechanic for toyota what was going on. he told me that it sounded like a fuel pump problem. i talk to one of my friends who also has a volvo and she told me that she recieved a letter in the mail recently that the volvo s60 fuel pumps were a problem and that the factory warranty would be extended to 120,000 miles. i took my volvo to carlsbad volvo and talked with frank mata who is a service advisor. i told him about the hesitaion and that my husband thought the there was a problem with the fuel pump.

frank told me that volvo would not replace my fuel pump unless i broke down. he said there was nothing he could do for me until the fuel pump completly stoped working. in his own words he said i have to wait until i break down before volvo would do anything. (he didnt even want to look at the car to make sure there was no problem with it). at that point i took my car back home and i guess im just waiting for my car to die on the freeway with my 3 year old daughter and hope we dont die.

i was wondering if this is how people are treated when they go to a vovlo dealer for this type of repair or if frank is completely wrong and handled this situation poorly. please advise.

my car could possibly break down while im driving. im scared to drive my volvo. because of franks horrible customer service and carlsbad being the closet dealer within 50 miles of my home i will not bye a volvo again!
