Using an internet site called Chevy Mall; I ordered custom seat covers for my brand new Chevy truck. This business partners with Chevy using their logos, etc. but is not actually part of GM though the website gives that false impression. I used this site assuming they were very familiar with the features of the cars/trucks they sell "custom" products for. (I'm a girl, what do I know about trucks.)

I placed my order on 2/8/2010 and the covers arrived several days ago. Online, the Chevy Mall website guides you through the ordering process with drop down menu keys, you cannot input information yourself. You provide the model and year of the vehicle and the site then provides fixed options for seat covers based on the configuration of the front seats and console. For the 2009 Avalanche, there were 4 options from which to choose. All 4 options required headrests that are removable. Problem is all 2009 Chevy Avalanches have non-removable front seat headrests! So now, I have very expensive "custom" seat covers that I cannot use because they require removal of the headrest, which is not possible.

I wrote Chevy Mall and asked them why they are selling custom seat covers for the 2009 Avalanche that will only fit if the headrest is removed, when this is not a feature of that model! They provided a snappy remark saying that I should know the workings of my brand new car and that they cannot keep up with all the models/years features.

So in essence, they are falsely advertising saying they have custom covers for the 2009 Avalanche when in fact they do not. (Please go to the site yourself, Chevy Mall and in the leftmost column click on Chevy trucks and then the seat cover picture, plug in Chevy Avalanche 2009 and look at the options in the drop down menu.)

I have asked to return the items for a full refund. I simply want my money back. Chevy Mall states they will take back the item minus a "restocking fee" which I refuse to pay given that it is their false advertising and not my negligence that caused this problem. They remain steadfast in their charging a restocking fee even after communicating my intention to notify GM, Consumer Affairs and BBB about their business practices/false advertising.
