El Monte Ford

We lost the truck we purchased; the down payment, and all the payments we made.

I purchased a ford f350 diesel truck on sept. 2004. About 2 months ago i took the truck in because i heard a clunk in the transmission. I told them that i wanted it checked out and they said they heard nothing. then i spoke to the service manager and asked him to take a ride with me so he can hear the noise for himself. He heard it and serviced the truck. So far we have not heard the noise but just the other day my truck was leaking quite a bit of oil. I called the dealer and explained that i was very disappointed with the vehicle and wanted this resolved immediately.

I asked them if i can take the truck in and have a rental so they can work on it. They said they were very busy and they could take the truck in on monday 2-14-05. I asked them what if my truck breaks down till then? and they gave me a number to a tow truck company. In the beginning when i took my truck in for the noise in the transmission, they said i shouldn't worry because i was covered under warranty 100,000 miles. i wouldn't mind bringing it in if i had the truck for atleast 2-3 years not 3-5 months. it is just getting very fustrating and i guess i wanted to know what my rights were and also get some advice.

it is just an inconvenience to be going through so much trouble on a brand new vehicle.

on 8/16/04my 1995 ford contour started over heating my daughter pulled over ,went to get help in which a hose had busted and all the coolant came out,the hose got replased put new coolant,drove it home,coolant stayed in, 2 hrs. later i am driving i notice the temp. rising on my gage by coincidence the ford dealership was down the street,i pulled into ELMONTE FORD,CA parked the car went to get help, thay asked me to move thecar in to the service dept. i started the car, when smoke came out of the front hood ,the car just turned off.

they told me if i wanted to get a diagnostic test,then we could find out whats wrong with the car. it would cost $75 for the test,he wrote it on a RECOMMENDED SERVICE SHEET told me he would call in a couple of hours,and give me a ride home. i have no idea how they moved my car to the service area. so 3 hrs. pass and no call,i called them Henry the advisor told me it looked like the heads, to call him 8/17/04 at 10:30a.m. i called at 10:30 he said they we're still checking it to call back in 2 hrs. in which i did, henry then told me it is my heads, but not completely damaged i was looking at $970.00 but if they are completely damaged #1500.00 more or less.to call him wed 8/18/04 in the morning.

i called 8/18/04 around 11 a.m. they told me he was w/ a customer i left message,2p.m. i called he was then at lunch, 3 p.m. i called he was unavailable left message ,i then went to work called him at 4 p.m. he was talking to a customer left my work number. had my daughter call around 5:30 p.m. the lady told my daughter Henry was not in today at all, left another message. 8/19/04 called henry around 11 a.m. he told me he would call me back, 4 p.m. my boss at work called the service manager which he does business with, to find out what was going on. his name is John the service manager, said he would get back to my boss, 45 min later john called said they were taking my heads out and sending them to get repaired , i then called myself on 8/20/04 spoke to Henry in which he said the same thing asked me if i wanted them fixed for $970.00 the heads i said well i need my car so fix the heads for $970.00, 8/21/04 called to check statis of my car Henry said i will call you after we test drive it.

8/23/04 called 2 times never returned my calls went in their service dept was closed allready 8/24/04 my daughter called me at work that they want $3100.00 to fix my gear shaft that's only labor it wasnot my heads after all. so i called Henry around 5 p.m. asked him how could this happen they have it for a week they did a diagnostic test and its totally something else, w/ a outrageous price .Henry then replied we sent the heads out and they did not need repair they have allready once been fixed before, bottom line is your gear shaft is damaged its $3100.00 for labor only for a total of $5100.00 that i have a ztec engine that's why it's so much to think about it and let them know, 8/27/04

my daughter went in to ask for a written estimate and she would pay for the diagnostic test and needed a copy also, they told her your mom really wants a written estimate, she said yes and the test copy he then told her well i have to write alot down on the estimate it will take awhile and for the test you dont pay until you pick up the car if you dont get it fixed here you still have to pay $750.00 for us to put it back together so if you want your car you need $750.00 to take it out and thats at discount since your mom's boss knows my boss.he told her to come 8/28/04 around 11a.m. for the written estimate, What do i do? i am a single mother with no car for 12 day's allready.

i have been without a car for 12 day's.

i work night's having to walk or take a taxi home i take the bus to the market its really hard to have no car i put my trust in the dealership to get it done correctly so i can have a dependable car, my daughter started her first week of college and almost got dropped from classes, i had to find her rides. its really been an inconvenience because there just out to make monry. does the gear shaft even have anything to do w/ it overheating thats what i took it in for?
