Frank Hyundai

National City, CA

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I purchased my vehicle at Frank Hyundai National City, a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. I've had absolutely no problem with the vehicle. I received my DMV registration renewal paperwork in the mail with a registration fee of over $1000.00! I called the CA DMV and they informed me that when my title was sent to the DMV it had been submitted with my car's value at $140,366! Obviously, a typo.

I called HMFCUSA and they told me that it was not their responsibility to furnish me with a loaner vehicle I can drive until the mess with the DMV clears up and if I wanted a title I had to request one and it may take 2-4 weeks. I told them that this was ridiculous, I didn't send the title to the DMV so it was their responsibility to correct it. They said that Hyundai Motor Finance Company didn't send the title either, it was the Finance Manager at Frank Hyundai National City. To this day I have a brand new car that I can't drive because of a mistake I didn't make and nobody has reached me to furnish me with a loaner car until they fix the problem they created.

I've had to rely on rides to and from work and so does my husband. We've spent more money giving people gas than we would spend using the vehicle we purchased to get to and from work!

I drove my 2005 Hyundai Tucson to the service department on October 16th and spoke with Mario. I informed him of the vehicle cutting offwhile trying to start, accelerating high while sitting and the check engine light was on. The dealership gave me a loaner car in which it had less than 3/4 tank of gasoline. The dealership kept my vehicle for two days. Mario called me at work informing me that the vehicle had a diagnostic check and all he could say was that it is possible to have some bad gasoline. He said he would investigate again and called me on October 18th stating the vehicle was OK, and nothing was found to be wrong. I left work early both days October 16th and 18th. The next day on October 19th, I had problems again with starting the vehicle. All this time while the vehicle was in service, no gasoline was pumped and no gas treatment was poured into the tank. The evening of October 19th while leaving from my part-time job, I had problems again with starting the vehicle at 10pm at night by myself and no one was around to assist me. I drove the vehicle back to the dealership on October 20th leaving from work early again. I informed the service department I am filing a formal complaint. I was so angry of what I have gone through. My vehicle was just repaired by this same dealership on October 5th due to the fuel pedal balancer breaking off falling to the floor of my SUV. Not only did I miss time off from work, but I paid $59.99 plus tax for a fuel system cleaning that could had been done at the dealership for a vehicle that is under warranty. My vehicle only has over 21,000 miles on it. After this experience I would not want to take my vehicle back to Frank Hyundai's service department. This place is a disappointment and a headache. In fact, if I could afford it the vehicle would be traded in for another vehicle. This will probably be the first and last Hyundai I will ever own.

I BOUGHT a 2003 tiburon 1 year and 5 months ago at FRANK HYUNDAI at national city SAN DIEGO. i complained about the chipping paint on my front bumper and the hood of the car, i told them it might be a factory deffect(IT SAYS ON THE BOOK THAT THEY HAVE 3YRS 36,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE PAINT). THEY told me its normal because i might be hitting rocks on the freeway and they said its not covered by warranty!. I HAVE a 1990 TOYOTA SUPRA been driving for 4 yrs now not even a single chipped paint on it!

2nd one is both my rear tires worns out way more than my front tires which is not normal, and FRANK HYUNDAI told me tires are not warranted and they told me JUST GET NEW TIRES which is not right cause something is wrong with the car or tires!

I LOVE MY CAR AND I LOVE HYUNDAI BUT IF IM GOING TO RECIEVE SERVICE LIKE THIS FORGET IT! JUST TO LET U KNOW THAT IM VERY DISAPPOINTED RIGHT NOW AND ANGRY! RIGHT NOW i am going to file a complaint to law of consumer affairs here in CALIFORNIA! I THINK YOUR WARRANTIES doesnt even exists! IM IN THE SERVICE and its hard for me to get a free time to go to a dealership then nothing happens!
