Five Towns Mitsubishi

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

i went to five towns car dealer and was conned into buying a car. the sales man was so conning that he even drove me home in the car. i cannot afford to make the payments and would like to return the car. i am single and struggling to pay my bills.

it could ruin my credit really bad and may cause me to go bankrupcy

I am a college student who went to a dealership with my friend, both of us knew nothing about cars. However i just got a new job and i needed a new car because i got off late nights from the airport and had to take 3 buses at 3am in the morning. So i went with the hopes that i can get a car and that the sales person would find the best deal for me.I got there and he showed me a brand new kia rio, i told him i could only afford around 150 dollars a month, because i am a full-time college student and only work part-time. He said ok no problem he said he would work out a deal for me.

He let me test drive the car and then, we went to his desk where him and the finance manager told me, I was apart of a new buyers program, and that they could finance the car for me,get the best insurance for me,and even get the plates and everything today. They said i would need to put some money down and that i could have the car for only 350/month including insurance. So i went to the bank and gave them 400 dollars cash.I ask about 10 times to make sure, i even had him write it on the intial contract papers, they also sold me all types of warrenties i found out later i really don't need.

The dealership was closing and they had me sign all types of papers i really tried to read but they were closing and i felt pressured to sign before they closed.I read through some of the contracts but i trusted what they said because i really didn't know what everything meant.I left the dealership with the car and they didn't even give me all my contracts and paper until a week later.

My payment ended up being 383/month for a base kia rio no power locks or windows. The insurance they gave me was progressive and there payments were 450/month.The car was suppose to come with a remote alarm system but doesn't have it.They financed me 21,000 plus dollars for a kia which only worth about 14,000 dollars. My APR is very high and i have a credit score of 766.Then i Tried to give the car back because i wouldn't be able to make payments, they wouldn't take it back. My moms friend came to the dealership with me to try and help me and when she was talking to the about the situation their lawyer offered me around 2,000 dollars to keep the car but i would have to sign a paper saying i would not sue them in the future. My mom didn't agree to the terms so we left, i am now trying to find other ways in which i can get some legal advice on what to do. I am in college and can't afford to pay for the car, but i really don't want to mess up my credit.

Twice I have gone into this dealership with advertised prices. One occasion was back in April. At that time, I went to Five Towns Toyota. I wanted to see a car that was advertised in the Daily News. It was a 2001 Mercedes M450 SUV which was listed for $11,000. I was told that the car had not come in yet; that it was at a Mercedes Benz Dealer getting an oil change, but of course I should take a look around at other vehicles. I cannot recall the name of the person I spoke with. He was a man of East Indian decent and told me to call him Joe since he had a difficult name to pronouce. I called the following day and the day following that but of course, the vehicle had not come in yet.

On Friday, July 27, 2007, I picked up Car Buyer's Market, Long Island, July 26th, edition. I noted two pages of cars advertised. I was particularly interested in the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder advertised for $13,995, with a little more than 14,000 miles on it, at Five Towns Mitsuibishi. I went to the dealership and sat down with Alexander. He told me that the ad was a misprint; not only for that particular vehicle, but MOST of the vehicles advertised and had been a mistake, not by the auto magazine, but by the individual responsible for placing the ad; that the car was in fact going for $22,000.

My belief is that they blatantly and continually do false advertisement.

The only damage done was that I put the sale of another vehicle on hold, thinking that I had a better deal after running the CarFax on the vehicle advertised by Five Towns. I think consumers should know about their unscrupulous practices.

On Saturday my wife and I decited to go look at cars at the Kia dealer, we leased the Kia Sorento LX (Black)we got the car home at about 8:30pm.

6pm on Sunday the car was burning and leaking fluid we only had the car for 22 hours, my wife was going to bring the car back on Monday to be detailed and alarm system instaled so when she got there At 11:10am she explained the problem to them and and left the car, they had the car for 5 hours when they brought It back to her they told her It was fine, these people had my car for 5 hours and did nothing but Install the alarm, the glue was still all over the car they never washed it.

And also adding miles on my car when they know It's a lease the car came back with about 50 miles on It. Monday night when my wife got the car back she went to pick our son up and stopped at the store the car was overheating and now was not driving the same It felt like the transmission was slipping she called the dealer and he tried to tell her to let it cool and try to drive It again she told him no, It's not drivable he said he was sending a towtruck we waited from about 6:30pm till 9pm till my wife called road side her self they told her the dealer never requested a tow for that car so she called him again and he told her It was coming that he requested a flatbed. we waited more hours and the tow truck never came.

This problem would have been solved If they would have checked the car, now I have a brand new car sitting In front of my house that I can't drive and they don't care because they already got there money

Added milage to my leased vehicle. car is not driveable

I bought a used car. I also asked for and bought an extended warranty. The warranty was supposed to be for 4 years and I paid the 4 year price, however the warranty that was given to me was only for 2 years and all attempts to work this out have failed so far.

I paid about 3000 dollars for a 4 year warranty which worked out to about 750 a year. Since I only received 2 years I ended up paying 1500 a year which is alot more than I would have agreed to pay as I could have bought the warranty elsewhere for a beeter price and terms

I brought my car to them on 6/1/04. I said I needed an oil change and that my transmission was not shifting properly. And to check if I needed tires. Also to replace a marker light. They inturn sold me a 90,000 mile service, two tires and a brake job. They also said that there was nothing wrong with my transmission. I picked up my car the next day and it was not running properly. It barely moved and was stalling.

I brought my car back and they said that they had washed my engine and that water had gotten into the cylinder heads. They blew it out and everything seemed fine. The next day I am driving home from Connecticut, that is where I work, and my transmission stopped shifting altogether. Needless to say, my car was in worse shape than when I had first brought it to them. I called them and brought my car back to them the next day. It had to be towed there. They checked it out and said that I needed a Speed Sensor. I said okay and it was replaced.

When I picked it up, I drove it for about an hour and then the transmission stopped shifting completely. Before, it would only go into first gear and now it was even moving. I called Five Towns immediately and the woman I spoke to on the phone said that no one could help me. I then called Mitsubishi directly to file a complaint and they redirected me to another dealer.

I brought my car to Wantagh Mitsubishi. I told them my problem and they said that they would look into it. It turns out that my transmission needed complete replacement.I okayed the work because I need my car to commute to work. My car was returned to me in great shape by Wantagh Mitsubishi. I asked them if there was any damage done by Inwood Mitsubishi and they said that they were extremely negligent in diagnosing the problem with my car and sold me a 90,000 mile service that was not necessary. Approxiametly two weeks later, whenever my car reached speeds of 55 to 65 mph, they car would shake. I once again returned to Wantagh Mitsubishi and had them look at my car. They said that all of my brakes, rotors, and drums needed replacement. They said that the previous brake job was done very poorly and that these parts should have been replaced before. Not resurfaced. That's what Inwood Mitsubishi did.

Now I have my car back from Wantagh Mitsubishi and everything is fixed. My complaint is that they were negligent in their work and that they sold my services I did not need. When I called Mitsubishi directly, they gave me the name of the general manager at Inwood Mitsubishi, Vladimir Zanan, and told me to speak to him. Every time I called he was not there. I left messages and no one returned my call. When I asked to speak to someone else, I was told that no one could me. When I spoke to Barry, he said that he would redo my brake job but I told him that I was not comfortable bringing my car back to someone who already has messed it up so badly. He could not understand that. So, we could not reach an agreement.

I spent $1,705.05 at Inwood Mitsubishi. I had to drive a van to and from Connecticut, which cost me roughly $50 every two days to fill up. I did this for about a month. That's $1,250 just for gas, because I did not have my car. I spent another $2,439.56 at Wantagh Mitsubishi, just to repair the work that Inwood had already done.I also used up all my free tows from my AAA service. That's a total of $5,394.61! Just so I could have my car running properly again.I want all of my money back because they never properly fixed my car and I feel that they should be held responsible for all debts that I accrued since I brought my car to them.

i was sold a 2000 toyota corolla, and was not informed that the car had been involved in an accident on jan.20,2000. Mike{manager at the dealership} informed me that since the damage is not over 3500.00,the do not have to inform me of this tid bit of information. At this time, im having trouble selling the car because of the so called accident.
