I took my Malibu Maxx to Roger Dean in Cape Coral, FL for a power steering recall issue. When I left the day of the service repair, the airbag light was coming on and going off at random times. I took it back in and was told that there was nothing wrong with the airbag. I had cell phone pictures to prove the light was coming on while driving.
When I took it home the next day, the airbag light was going on and off at random times and the seat belt chime no longer worked. I took it back into Roger Dean and was greeted by the service manager, Nick. I explained the problem and let him know this all started happening, right after their repair. Nick was less than cordial and said this may not have anything to do with our repair. Again, nothing was found or corrected.
A couple of weeks later, I took it back again and spoke with Bruce. He was very uninterested in helping me and told me that I would have to pay for an evaluation. They charged me $55.00 and again found nothing wrong.
Yesterday, I took the vehicle to Victory Lane Chevrolet in Ft. Myers to be evaluated. They called this morning and said that the wiring to an airbag sensor system was hooked up incorrectly and the airbag would not have deployed if I was involved in an accident. I now have to pay an additional $99.00 for this repair. I took this vehicle in for a warranty (recall) repair to Roger Dean. I have had to drop off the vehicle 5 additional times and pay $154.00 because Roger Dean refused to actually consider that they may have made a mistake. I will never use Roger Dean again.
Loss of use of my vehicle for 5 days. $154.00 to pay for what should have been a warranty recall. Driving an unsafe vehicle for months because Roger Dean refused to properly evaluate their inferior workmanship.
