Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I have bought numerous cars, and never have I been treated so hostile, and with total contempt. These people are disingenuous and rude. Had the finance manager been a woman treating a man the way this man treated me, he'd have been fired immediately. First, he botched my paperwork which I had to resign, charged me more for things I didn't want, and then threatened me with calling the police, and telling them that I stole the vehicle, if I did not return the car ASAP. He spelled my name wrong, and he knew I was working in Pleasanton, which is about 600 miles farther than a skip down the street to go in and resign papers. Finally, they sent them through FedEx, to my work, which I took to my hotel and resigned and returned. Next, I get the GM and GSM involved, and they didn't really help. I'm told one day all is good, and the loan went through, and the car is mine. Three days later, I'm told I need to re-sign, because the loan did not go through, and do I want the car, or to return it. I don't think these clowns know what the heck they're doing!

Now, I have to return the car, because I will not allow anyone at this dealership to make money in commissions for my deal, and honestly don't really want Fladeboe to be paid for my car. If I return the car, I have no way to get to work, because I live in an affluent area in South Orange County, and due to budget cuts over the past 3 years, due to the heinous recession, in which I spent 2 years unemployed, and lost my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and there are no bus routes from Aliso Viejo to Costa Mesa or Irvine to my jobs. Basically, if I return the car, I'm also unemployed because if I can't get to work, I can't have a job, and then I lose my apartment and my son, and I have no place to live, not even a car to live in! All because Fladeboe VW hires incompetent idiots to run their dealership. They all should be fired. This has caused me so much stress and loss of sleep for the past two months. I've been in hell!

I had filled out online a want to buy VW and filled evrything out on a non-descriminating website. It directed me to Fladaboe where the 2 woman in fleet sales finace called me 4 times about coming in and they could finance me- and would make an offer for mytrade in which was a 2003 Honda element.Actually Joane Sparrow asked me 3 times to come in even though I felt that Lopez (mgr) never came out to asee me 3 x's that i was in there before this happened.Lopez just sat at his glass window on his Laptop each time I was in there within the last 10 days. No one came out and after 20 minutes on the Lot I left. Then I filled out the web and they got the hit and joane gave me a line about trade in and buying a new car.

i went in Yesterday -again no one came out and I walked in to showroom where Lopez was again on laptop behind his desk not making an effort to move his ass out of his seatWhen I went in he said he would get me a salesman and I met jason and proceeded to test drive a new VW and asked to do a trade in value afterwards. He looked at my 2003 Honda element which in rather very good condition - no hits, paint damage etc.

After i called for Joane on her private line and left her 3 messages about what we were doing. She did not 1 times return my call and knew it was me because my phone # comes thru unblocked. I knew it was a waste of time and the games these people in finance play. I called again and left her a message only for voicemail.

I finally got to jason the salesman and told me that Lopez said he would offer me $4000 for my Honda which is like salt in a wound. This car wholesale is at least $5400 and private about $7500 to retail at $8000&. I could not get a call back and was almost talked into coming becuase of the great deals they would have and do- Joane in finance called me , was never real nice ,kind of condesending an really upset me to the point if she was a he I would ahve marhed back ina given him/her a piece of my mind no matter who was there.I still may.
This is my 2nd experience with Fladaboe when a new car was going to happen and they never would return a call after we almost bought it.

They are a company that gets people in and after they feel it may not comp;letely work- just drop it like a bomb. Howvere if u come in with Good $$ and or say YES I am buying- they treat U like royalty.

Lets get it corrected before I go back in Friday and give both people there a mahjor tongue lashing in each division.

They get hopes up and do NOT CARE if they have any doubt-but drive You nuts and crazy to come down

Various Volkswagen dealerships have been unable to fix the radio, climate control (a/c and heater), passenger side heated seat, dashboard panel lights, Homelink, defroster flap, and rear passenger side window regulator pin on my 2003 VW Passat GLX V6. All of the above went out simultaneously in November 2006 while I was driving on the freeway. I've had several diagnostics performed on the vehicle and VW still cannot determine the cause or fix these problems!

Please help to get this message to VW by sending multiple emails/complaints to VW of America (Stefan Jacoby, CEO), NHTSA, Better Business Bureau, Bureau of Automotive Repair and online VW forums.

Having spent over $8000 in repairs and related expenses at several VW dealerships, I am now in debt and can't even afford Christmas presents for my family, small medical bills, clothes, and food (living off Cup-O-Noodles and tacos).

VW CEO Stefan Jacoby's assistant, Katie Fox called me to apologize and stated there's nothing they can do to help except offer a $2000 voucher good towards a new Volkswagen vehicle. This is an absolute nightmare as it's taking a great economic as well as stressful toll on me. Any advice would be helpful. I will continue to write letters and complain to VW until they start paying attention to their customers.

Bought a new 2003 VW Passat in July 2002. With regular maintenance and oil changes, my 03 Passat GLX broke down in November 2006. Since November 2006, I've spent over $7800 in diagnostics, repairs, and related expenses in attempt to fix the inoperable horn (dangerous w/out), radio, climate control, heated seats, driver's side headlight (replaced over 17 times since 2003), Homelink, rear passenger side window, passenger side light panel, and defective airbags.

VW thinks it could be a defective ECU unit and that an additional $1300 in repairs will hopefully take care of the above problems. I've already spent over $7000 in diagnostic and repairs from several VW dealerships who were able to fix the above problems temporarily (1 day), and then everything goes out again!

I've already tried the NHTSA, CSSA, BBB, DCA, Attorney General, Bureau of Automotive Repair, and Volkswagen of America. There shouldn't be this many recurring problems with a 2003 VW Passat.

Over $7800 spent in repairs/diagnostics since November 2006 with an additional $1300 needed to repair the ECU unit. VW is unsure if this will fix all of the above problems. Because of this VW ordeal, I've lost so much weight (now at 94 lbs at 5'3), stress is producing health problems that I NEVER had before (alopecia, ulcers, nausea, severe headaches), and I cannot afford to make my last car payments or eat a decent meal!!!! If VW can afford to lose money on their $1.4 million dollar Bugatti Veyrons (which costs way more to produce) just because they want to try and show the world how great their engineering is, they should at least show some gratitude towards their loyal VW customers!

My wife and I recently purchased a Toureg. What they failed to mention was that getting an appointment with service would take a month and a half. I tried to schedule an appointment today 6/20/06 for an oil change and was told the first available appointment was not until Aug 1st.

Naturally I tried the next closest dealer and was able to get an appointment in 4 days. I can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with the prepaid service package I bought through them when purchasing the vehicle. Seems they don't look at you as a paying customer.

Either way that kind of service wait should have been disclosed at time of purchase. It would have influenced my decision on whether or not to purchase that vehicle from that dealer.
