On August 22, 2010, I bought a 2000 Mazda 626 4-door sedan LX from BackUp Cars, LLC in Loganville, GA from Damon ** for $2400. After buying this vehicle, I had only driven it once to register the car on August 23, 2010 and parked it at home until I could get a full check up. On August 24, 2010, I was on my way to get a check up on Hwy. 85 North and while driving, the gas pedal locked down to the bottom making the car speed. The speed-sensor dropped to zero, making it for me not see how fast the car was going. The car started smoking very bad, and it was very hard to brake and get to the side. I could have got hurt or killed.
That same night, around 7:45 pm, AAA towed the car to CT Motors in Oplika, AL were the car was looked at. I was told that: 1.) the transmission was worked on right before buying this vehicle because it showed the bolts were loose and not holding the transmission tight; 2.) all fluid areas were burnt out transmission, oil, etc.; 3.) all plugs, wires, sparks were all burnt out; 4.) computer in the car, the PCM, misfired and broke when told it was working; 5.) speed-sensor is broke; 6.) car will not shift out of gear; 7.) and I was told they put the transmission and other stuff to the car just enough to get it running to make a sale. I feel as though, after less then 72 hours this should not have happen.
From the time of the incident I had tried to call Damon ** and BackUp Cars, LLC and got no answer, call back, or any contact. I enclose that I sent a letter informing him of what happen and I will love to get some type of refund from $1500-$2000 back and take this further. I will like to have information on the GA lemon law and AL lemon law and also take this further. Nothing was damaged physically or economic.
