Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I leased a Kia Sol on January 24, 2010 from Union City Kia. The drive out tag was given with an expiration date of February 28, 2010. The tag was not received and I went to the dealership to get another drive out sticker on March 6. The new sticker expired on April 6, 2010. My daughter is driving the vehicle and is out of state attending college. On April 9, she was pulled over by the local police in Auburn, AL because the drive out tag had expired a second time. She was able to talk herself out of a ticket and instead received a warning.

She called the dealership on April 9 and was told that the person who handled tags was out and to call back on Monday, April 12. I called on Monday to complain and the sales manager (don't have name) told me that Amanda or Audrey (not at work where I have the exact name written down) would call me back in one hour. That was two days ago and I still have not heard from the person nor the dealership as of today, April 14. Likewise, I still don't have a tag for the car. It is approaching 90 days without a tag. I am frustrated and need immediate assistance in getting my permanent tag.

In the meantime, I signed up for an automatic draft from my checking account for the monthly lease payment and this is working well, so I know that I am legally entitled to drive the vehicle or have someone under my direction drive the vehicle (in this case my daughter) but need the tag in order to comply with state and federal regulations regarding vehicle tag and registration. Currently (April 14) my daughter can no longer drive the vehicle for fear of getting pulled over again. She is now taking public transportation and the University shuttle to/from classes.

This is a big inconvenience for her and it is approaching college finals and she needs to have the freedom to drive her own vehicle back and forth to campus without fear of being pulled over again. I would like to receive the vehicle tag within the next 7 business days as well as some additional consideration for all of the inconvenience this has caused us. Normal timeframe for a new vehicle tag is 21 days. We have exceeded that by four times the norm. If a tag is not received ASAP, I will seek other remedies including a forfeiture of the vehicle without penalties for breach of contract. Thank you.

They failed to send in titling and registration paperwork within a timely manner. They overcharged taxes and have not reimbursed completely. They failed to give me a copy of the "lemon law" guidelines. Caesar was EXTREMELY RUDE. They failed to service the car properly initially.

I had to drive to the dealership two times, resulting in 400 miles of travel, to have the car re-serviced and a failed attempt to obtain proper paperwork and reimbursement for milage and overcharges. In addition, I am out the interest on the money that they charged.

I went to kia with a problem with remote .I asked was Michelle there(a person who I usually deal with)she wasn't , this Jason person went on to tell me that he was the manager and I need to wait for Michelle to come to work. Why ? Wasn't he the manager!!
