Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Continental was given car insurance payment, to replace a muffler, due to the car being rear-ended. Teresa ** in the service department told me that the muffler was being replaced. After I picked up the car, and was looking over the receipt, I noticed that the muffler was never replaced. it was repaired. I was never informed that the muffler was repaired. I was told the muffler was being replaced.

I called the service manager Jon ** and questioned him about this, he gave me some lame excuse. When I asked him where did the $275 money from the insurance company go to, since they recommended the muffler to be replaced, he went off saying "what part did you not understand with, what I just told you?" I said, "I asked you not to talk to me like that, since I'm the customer", and he replied "a customer that I only made $30 on".

I am still waiting for an explanation as to where the $275 went to, and I have not heard back from them. I do not recommend Continental Auto to anyone. They are dishonest and they do fraudulent work. Also, a service manager, who doesn't take responsibility, or cares about the work that is done.

In response to Julie of Brookfield, IL. We have resolved Julie's issue of not getting her gift card. I have to agree that the salesman's follow up was less then stellar. As a result, only management will handle gift cards. I thank Julie for bringing this matter to my attention. I learn new things everyday. Thank you. Chuck **

Continental Auto Center ran a promotion with a mailer. Ours came up as a winner. We went into the dealership with all of our paperwork and were told that they ran out of the WalMart gift cards and would mail ours to us and not to worry, they were honest. After calling them back to get more detail, the receptionist said they still had WalMart gift cards for the winners - I asked if I should come back in to get ours, she checked with a salesman and said no, they just ran out. I explained that we were in at 9AM this morning (August 22nd) and asked why we weren't given one then if they just ran out (at noon when I was on the phone with them).

A salesman then came on the line and stated that the mailer said that the mailer states "as long as supplies last." I explained that the salesman we spoke with indicated that we would get one. The gentleman told me no, that was incorrect, they would put our name into a drawing and if drawn would get one for lesser value.

I believe the reason we did not get one was because we said we weren't going to purchase for another 6 months. I am guessing that the prizes were only given to those that they could get a sale out of during that particular day. Their promotion was misleading, as were their salespeople.
