We have had our car in 3 or 4 times for the seat to be fixed on drivers side. At some point somehow a piece of metal punctured through the seat back. Which ripped alot of clothes. So I brought my vehicle in and the dealership ordered the part, they asked if it had side airbags I said no they went out and checked it out and there wasn't any they said they were ordering the right one. It took a few weeks, I had to call to find out if my part ever came in. I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance and the night before I called before my husband and I went out there to drop it off. The service dept. never had me down for an appt. I made one for the following day.
While we were in for our seat I asked if they could look at the transmission because it would buck when you were in the passing gear. It shifted hard. They said no problem they would call me to let me know what they found.
The day it was suppose to be fixed I never heard a word from them so I called late afternoon only to find out that the seat was ripped out and the wrong one was ordered. It would be a week before they could fix it. They hooked us up with an Enterprise car which we had to go get in Antioch.I waited a week and didn't hear anything from them, so I called them to find out yes my seat was done but I would have to take it to another dealer for the other problem, I had to return the car from one Enterprise to re Rent again from another Enterprise.
When picking up the van at Fox lake Ford we noticed that the Lumbar was not working and the tabs that are on the handle in the back of the seat were never put in. We went to another dealer. Victory Ford in Wauconda and they fixed everything. The transmission and the seat that Fox Lake failed to do. They were helpful and nice. They got us the car to rent and they called me when the car was finished.
I will never go to Fox Lake Ford again and I would never recommend it to anyone. This in our opinion gives Ford a bad name. This has totally turned me off on even owning a Ford. All the people that I have talked to about this problem, ie freind, co-workers ect. have been made aware of this. It is sad that one bad service dept. could do so much damage.
This is not the only time we have had a problem with this. We have had our fuel pump go out and some sort of sensor and the reply about the sensor these cars are not made for drastic temperature changes, this happened in the winter. We have a Windstar Van if that is the way cars our made then in this area people will always have to their cars in every change of season. That was such a poor answer to our problem, that was not made by Nick that was one of the other employees.
In our opinion you need to investegate what type of work they do and how many people our returning. If it is just our luck then we have a Lemon. It only has 30,000 some miles and has been in the shop many times. The good thing that has came out of this is that by having to use rental cars we have tried so many out we know what we want to get for the next vehicle. I do expect some sort of resolution.
