Consumer Complaints & Reviews

In rebuttal to Jasmine of Round Lake Park, it is absolutely unacceptable, the treatment you received at our dealership. We would have liked you to file a complaint with our ownership as this behavior would not have been tolerated. We ask that you get in touch with us so we can take proper action to ensure our customers are not treated like this in the future

I went into this dealership with my boyfriend to look at cars and possibly give them our buisness. Immediatley I felt very attacked and harrassed. One of the employees who is the "boss" asked me inappropriate questions about my sex life with my boyfriend. He also kept staring me down. After all this I told my boyfriend I wanted to leave and the people that worked there got very rude I got up to leave and told my boyfriend we needed to leave.

The man who was very rude followed me outside and yelled at me. I was very intimidated and just kept going. I feel that this is something nobody should have to go through. I felt very degraded and upset. I will never go in there again, I do believe I should have some justice after going through all this. I feel very degraded, I don't believe this should happen to anyone. I believe it had something to do with my race. I felt sexually harrassed.

Matt, the manager, told me if I gave my car back to the bank and do a Credit write off that I would not be responsible to pay the difference that I still owed on the car. But that was a lie! What I had to do was to file bankruptcy because I couldn't afford to pay. So now my credit is ruined because of Matt. No wonder why Ray Chevrolet filed for bankruptcy. They are a bad dealer.

We had purchased many vehicles from this dealer in the past so when we considered another new vehicle we naturally decided to try this dealer first. We had a considerable amount of upside down we wanted to roll in so we contacted Ray to purchase a leftover 2008 with deep discounts. Everything went fine until they submitted to the banks. The book value on the vehicle we wanted was to low according to them. They stated we needed $5,000 more down. We went from $1,000 down to $6,000 down in 2 seconds. Our credit score was 829. Then they tried to shove us into a used Trailblazer. Initially we agreed but only if we could get blue. They said absolutely no problem.

They suggested we drive another Trailblazer for a couple of days while they located a blue vehicle. They never did and got nasty when we wanted to get our car back. They refused to refund the $35.00 in gas we put in the loaner even though they said they would give us a gas coupon. I also question the constant print ads I see. They always advertise vehicles with deep discounts but when you call or arrive they always say they just sold them, then you'll see the add again the next week. For example, an ad states $11,000 of MSPR. I asked where is the vehicle that has $11,000 off, reply "just sold it this week". The next week I see the ad again. Of coarse, there is a disclaimer on the ad but at what point is this false advertising?

After the incident I did some research and we went to other dealers. We where offered $2,000 more for our trade by all other dealers with no purchase commitment. Furthermore, the Suzuki we originally wanted was well above blue book. Had Ray reduced their sales price and given us a decent price for our vehicle we may have been willing to put a little more down to make the deal work but instead they tried to rape us and got nasty about it. I find it extremely offensive that my tax dollars are being used to bail out companies that allow their dealers to screw us.

I understand that everyone is just trying to make a buck these days but no one should abuse customers that have made them plenty of money in the past.
