Consumer Complaints & Reviews

After bringing our not even 2 years old yet Chrysler town and country minivan (which we purchased brand new) for the third time because the a/c again went out during the hottest part of the summer, our service advisor Mr. Jim ** told us that "miraculously", leaves and debris all of a sudden got lodged in our a/c drain line and this wouldn't be covered under the warranty. Nowhere in our maintenance schedule does it say anything about watching out for this. I mean, the air broke three times and now all of a sudden there are leaves and debris in the drain line. Come on man, be serious. I suggest that they take care of this before our attorney goes for the gusto and gets our vehicle classified as a LEMON.

I purchased an xc90 in July of 07. The car was only 2 years old, and came with a 100k extended warranty. I loved the car. Time for servicing- oil change light comes on. I drive into my neighborhood oil change guy, who I had used with my Infiniti that I had driven for several years prior to purchasing the volvo. Much to my dismay, I was told that only Volvo could service the vehicle due to a lock on the oil cap?

So I scheduled to bring the car in and requested a loaner for the day. This is when I was told that I wouldn't be able to get a loaner due to the fact that the car was purchased at a dealership an hour away. I didn't understand what that had to do with it. It is in fact a volvo. I was so used to the incredible customer service I was used to at Infiniti, that I was dumbfounded. I sucked it up and moved on.

A year later, the a/c wouldn't work. I brought it in 3 times for checking...3 times! THey would say the problem was resolved, than a few days later, the same situation was occurring again and again. I called, complained, and still could not get access to a loaner. But this was all due to their misdiagnosis of the problem initially. Sometimes they kept my car for 2 or 3 days. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who was incredibly rude. I just wanted someone to take ownership of their ignorance of the problem to begin with. I was irate.

Aside from various little problems here and there, I started noticing that when it would rain, there was water pooling on the driver's side floor. I called, explained the problem, and immediately, they knew what it was. THe sunroof drains were clogged and it was leaking into my car! The guy on the phone says he sees this with the xc90s all of the time. SO I assume it is a design flaw.

Nope- they won't take responsibility for this either! If it is so commonplace, why aren't they checking those drains when I bring it in for maintenancing? They said it s free to clear the drains if you ask for it. Well I have driven cars with sunrooves for years and never had an issue. So why would I think to ask this question? They, the people who are aware of this problem, they should tell me about this and put it on their checklist when they do routine maintenance.

But no- once again, they have taken ZERO responsibility. Not to mention its $170 to blow the drains, and $700 to get carpets cleaned and will take a week! REALLY PEOPLE? COME ON! I was also told in the same phone call that my alarm light needs to be replaced for $450. I said no problem bc I have that extended warranty on the car. Much to my dismay, they don't have record of this either!

SO I am going to get the car fixed, and selling it. I just warn people to not purchase this car or buy from Bergeron Chrysler Jeep Volvo in Metairie Louisiana. I hope other volvo dealerships are much better in customer service.

Oh- one more thing- after a couple of years of begging for a loaner vehicle, when I dropped off my car this morning, they asked if I needed a ride somewhere. UNBELIEVABLE. I asked if this was something new they were offering. Nope- it had been available, just never offered to me.
