On the 19 of December, I drove my RX 300 Lexus from North Carolina to Texas. I had no problem with the car until the last 40 miles. The check engine light came on. As the manual states, I continued to drive to my destination. My husband loaded the car on a trailer and we took it to the dealer on the 22nd of December.

The Service Manager informed us that we needed to replace the transmission. We declined this $4,000 plus service. We took the car back home where my husband changed the filter and transmission oil. After doing so we drove the car back to North Carolina and we had no further problem with the check engine light, or transmission.

We were charged $112.00 for a false diagnosis, which made us believe we had to suddenly pay for a new transmission on a car that is suppose to be top of the line.

This caused us great concern during the Holiday Season.

We believe the representatives did not have the best interest of the customer in mind, only the profit they could make from such a costly service on our part.
