On 12/29/2009, I walked outside to my car to drive to an OBgyn appointment (5 mos pregnant), and when I tried to start my car, it was dead. I assumed it was the battery, because no lights or locks were working. So I called JBA directly to ask for Roadside Assistance, and they transferred me. I came to find out that they never submitted the papers to Roadside, so they refused to come out. Again, I called JBA, and they eventually got it straightened out and sent a tow truck.

The mechanic jump-started the car and said that I probably left a light on or something. And I didn't think any more of it and he left. He instructed me to let it run for 10 minutes before I get in, and I did.

When I started to drive it down the driveway of my home, it died again. It completely shut off and did nothing. Again, I called JBA who in a few hours sent out another tow truck. They towed it to JBA this time. John from JBA called me the next day to tell me that the diagnostic machine had told them the battery seemed weak and wasn't supplying enough power, so they replaced it. I picked up the vehicle the next day.

On 1/7/2009, I was walking out of work in Oxon Hill, Md and trying to go home when once again the car was dead. Same symptoms, nothing was working, not the lights, locks anything! There was a clicking noise though coming from the key entrance. Luckily, my boss was still there and gave me a lift to Annapolis (1-hr drive!).

Then I came to find out after I got home and tried to get the vehicle towed that they needed me there to sign for it. I have to drive all the way back to Oxon Hill from my house at 8pm where I proceeded to wait for over an hour for a tow truck.

The next day, I spoke with John from JBA, and he said he didn't find anything wrong with the car. At this point, I had enough I called Eric, the sales manager at JBA Mitsubishi, who told me to come down to the dealership and they would do a "trade out," not explaining to me exactly what that meant. But I soon found out. He wanted to take my car as if I was trading it in and charge me negative equity. I was furious that my only option was to either take this piece of crap back home or pay them to fix this issue. Were they nuts?

Then Karim (my car salesman) told me and my boyfriend that "Between you and I, they really didn't believe the car was broken and that you were trying to get out of the purchase and go with another brand." I had to laugh, yes, because I love not hearing my baby's heartbeat and I love being stuck an hour from home. Are you kidding me?!

Needless to say, my boyfriend and I knew at this point that we would be getting an attorney. I didn't want this to get ugly. All I wanted was an exchange which I thought I was getting before they tried to get me to trade it in for a depreciated amount. Not to mention, 2 weeks after, my boyfriend and I purchased cars from them. Then they decided to non-stop call us about our titles for our trade ins.

If you knew what you were doing, you'd get them at the time of the sale. We do not live close to this place and cannot keep making trips there. This company obviously doesn't know what they are doing or need to train some of their employees on sales!
