Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY, THAT LEAKED A FLUID ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE FROM THE TIME OF PURCHASE. I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING, THEY ADJUSTED AND TIGHTENED THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER SEVERAL VISITS OF ADJUSTING & TIGHTENING, NOW THEY SAID THAT THE WHOLE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A PORTION OF THE ENGINE DID NOT RECEIVE ENOUGH ALUMINUM. NOW THEY SAY THAT THE POUROUS PART OF THE MOTOR CAUSED THE LEAK. I ALSO EXPERIENCE VIBRATION IN STEERING. I AM SO UNSATISFIED. IS THIS THE REAL PROBLEM OR ARE THERE ADDITIONAL HIDDEN PROBLEMS. I ALSO SPOKE WITH THE REGIONAL SALES MANAGER (RON ROBINS) FROM HONDA, WHO SAID THAT DEFECTS WERE RARE- BUT YOU GOT ONE AND THEN HE SNICKERED.

My 2005 Honda CRV caught fire on 8/12/06 in Philadelphia, Pa. The vehicle was towed to Pohanka on 8/14/06 from Philadelphia. I was not notified when the vehicle arrived. I went and found the vehicle myself on Thursday 8/14/06. I was then told that it was my fault because of the "offbrand" oil filter. I told them that the filter was not leaking, but to no avail. I finally was called to pick up the vehicle on Friday 8//24/06 and the burned harness wires, along with two sensors were replaced. This was charges to my insurance. I saw oil when I got home (6 miles away) and the maintenance light was on.

I then took the vehicle to College Park Honda on Monday 8/28/06. A techinitian there just happen to come into the showroom and told me that my cadallac converter was full of oil and that I had a leak. I had tried to tell Pohanka that the leak was comming from the oil pump or exaust area and not the filter. I called Honda headquarter numerous times and got no support. I then got a call from Honda headquarters on Thursday 8/30/06 saying that an investigation showed that Honda was not at fault. I responded that that was their opinion and That was a lie. I got rid of the CRV on 8/28/06 and got a civic. I just want Honda to own up to a mistake.

No product is perfect. I will see to it that no one I know will ever buy a CRV, even if I have to put an ad out. Pohanka dropped the ball and cheated the insurance company. Honda surprised me at not standing up. Do whatever you can to let the consumers know.

I purchased a 1997 Honda Accord LX from Pohanka Honda. When I brought this car it still had the manafacture's warranty on it up, to 75,000 miles. I have serviced this car as far as oil changes, replacing brakes, tune ups etc. I was driving up the road and without any warning the car cut off. I tried to start, successfully, so I turned around to go the gas station and when I hit the brakes the car cut off. I attempted to start it again, but this time it wouldn't start.

So the following day I called the dealer from which I purchased the car and told them what had happened. They informed me to have the car towed the dealership, which I did. The following day someone from the dealer called me and told me the cam shaft went bad and he asked me if I kept a log on the car. I told him that I did and that it was in the car. He then told me I should come get the log out of the car and give it to him so that he could make copies to send to the warranty people. I did this, and I also called the warranty people to see if this promblem was indeed covered I was informed that it was. A day later the dealer called me back to tell me that the warranty company had denied my claim. So I once again called them they gave me the run around when finally I got to speak to someone. As a result of that they informed me that my warranty was now void because they found slurge and blood under the engine.

When I asked for more information they just kept telling me that I had voided the warranty and that I am now responible for the damage. I have receipts from many oil changes, etc. I offered to send them and they denied, saying they had enough info with just the log. I was told the damages was $6000. When I brought this car and read the warranty info on the back it clearly stated that the cam shaft could be a major defect in this used car. I have called around finding out info and was told by someone at consumer for auto safety that this year car (1997) has had promblems with oil leakage. I just want to know if this is true and, if not, what my rights are. As the result to this I have to do a VTI. This has caused a lot of stress and emotional problems for me family.
