The brakes are soft and spongy. When I stop at a light and rest my foot on the brake pedal, it slowly drifts to the floor. If I rest my foot on the pedal, it will touch the floor. I can not believe that the pedal should not have a hard bottom well above the gas pedal. As I rest my foot on the brake pedal at a stop sign, the pedal drifts down to the floor. On three occasions I have touched the gas pedal causing the engine to accelerate while I have my foot on the brake. A very dangerous problem. If I take my foot off the brake side, first the car can accelerate into the intersection or the car in front of me. I brought the Toyota to the dealer where I purchased it and told them of soft brakes and the pedal drift, twice they said my description was normal for the new Tacomas.

I told them that it felt like the system is full of air. They said that they bled the system and checked the computer. I told them the master cylinder may be faulty and they said it was the way it should be. When I left the dealer, the brakes felt better but both problems still exist and are no better than before. I do not trust the dealers, they seem to deny all problems unless the company admits to a recall.
