Consumer Complaints & Reviews

a few months after buying a brand new 2005 chevy aveo I had a problem, the problem was during the winter time the car would stick into 3rd gear and would stick for a while until it shifted hard into 4th. It is an automatic I have had problems since the first year of having. we had a 60,000 mile warrenty on it and every time i took to dealer they could not find anything wrong. we do our own maintance to it such as timing belt and oil changes and such, it costs too much from the dealer when we can do it for not near as what they would charge. we have had this problem for ever and it does it still.

Today the temp was 39 degrees and travling down the road it stuck for about 10 minutes until it shifted into 4th. I am very displeased with the problems and I have contacted the chevy gm complaints about this already and no one had a clue that this problem had occured. I have drove it recently and last summer it would stall out after making a gurgling noise. I took it to the dealers and they had it for approxmatley 3 days and found nothing wrong due to the warrenty still in affect.

I have had nothing but trouble with this car and now today the maintance has been done about two months and timing belt was changed at 60,000 miles as it should be the plugs and this type stuff already changed but for some reason this car going down the road today. i drove it about 5 miles down the road it stuck in 3rd not shifting into 4th like it is suppose to do and made a herendous squealing noise and gurgling and popping noise and before I got of the road it completely shut off and it will turn over but nothing is turning. It is not the timing belt it is still on there.

We have no clue but there for it has left me broke down on the side of the road with 2 small children until my husband could come to me to help me. IT WILL NOT START YOU CAN NOT MOVE IT AND UNREALIABLE SO I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CHEVY CARS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE AGAIN.

I PURCHASED MY 2000 MALIBU NEW 10 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE CONSTANTLY HAD IT IN THE SHOP OVER 8 TIMES FOR SHAKING AND VIRATION, BRAKE PROBLEMS, TIRE PROBLEMS, ROTAR PROBLEMS, TEMPATURE GAUGE, KNOCKING WHEN STARTING. NOW THEY FINALLY DETECT THE PISTONS HAVE TO BE REPLACED, THEY HAVE TO ORDER THEM SO IT COULD BE 2-4 WEEKS OR MORE BEFORE THEY WILL BE IN. I HAVE FILED A COMPLINT WITH THE BBB AND NOW THE MANUFATURE IS CALLING ME SAYING I HAVE EXCEDED 24000 SO THEY DON'T KNOW. BASICALY THIS CAR HAS GIVEN ME PROBLEMS FROM THE FIRST 6000 MILES AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 6 TIMES BEFORE THE 24000 MILES SO EXACTLY WHAT ARE MY LEGAL RIGHTS. AT PRESENT I HAVE 28500 MILES ON MY VEHICLE.
