They claim that they didn't damage it when they took the door panel off. They claimed it was due to "Age". If it's due to age then why aren't the other three door panels showing the same "Age" problem.

I purchase a 2003 VW Passat in September of 2003. Since then I have taken the car back to the dealership 5 times for a host of problems. The first problem was the gas gauage was not correctly displaying the amount of gas in the tank, everytime I would go to the gas station, the gas attendant would put gas in, but the gauge would not move. I took it in to the dealership and they claimed that fixed it. As soon as I reached home, I found that all of the gas had leaked out of the car. I took it back to the dealership and they claimed that the gasket was loose. The 3rd time was for the air bag indicator that came on, this was also fixed. The 4th time was for the check engine light which the dealership claimed was for carbon buildup and this was fixed???. The check engine light came on again and I am fed up with this car

My daughter bought her first new car here. I have probably bought a dozen or so cars in my life - this was the worst buying experience I've ever seen. It would take too long to go through all the gory details, but here are a few highlights - It started with mistakes - they didn't have the car we wanted but they did a search and located a car - but they did the search on the wrong model - so when my daughter went to the insurance company to get a policy the VIN number wouldn't go through. This was two days after we had placed the order and after the car was already supposed to have been picked up.
They then did another search - found another car - and promised to pick it up that night, fax the correct info to the insurance company first thing in the morning, and made an appointment for us to pick up the car at 1pm the following day. I called to verify - yes they'd get the car and the info would be there. My daughter went to the insurance company the next morning - no information had been faxed - the agent contacted the dealership - they had to wait - there was no in - they couldn't locate the saleman or the car - they finally faxed the info - about 2 1/2 hours later - my daughter sat around that whole time. That was about 4 hours now she'd spent at the insurance company. I called to verify that the car had actually been picked and would be ready at 1pm - everything was ready they said - I called again just before we left - "its being detailed, but will be ready when you get here" but when we showed up we had only gotten there a few minutes after the car - so they had to prep it,etc. We took delivery at about 5:30 pm. There were no regular keys, only a valet key -
This is the short version of the story - it doesn't include the dozen calls I made to try to make sure everything was right - always being told it was - Mostly what bothered me most was the flat out lies - the saleman telling me that he had to make alot of calls to find what we wanted when he never was involved in the locating process at all, that he was going to pick the car up himself (joke), that the car was there and ready to go, and that they were going to do something special for her when she came in - well to be honest - they did do that - they gave her a VW sweatshirt - hmmmm
She was so excited to finally get the car - I didn't want to spoil it for her- so I waited till she left and pulled the sales manager aside to express my feelings - "water under the bridge" was the expression I think he used.
So, my goal is try to cost them about 10 sales - and at least 8 hours of their time - that's a modest estimate of how much of my daughter's time they wasted. So, I hoping 1 person will read this and go somewhere else to buy a car - then I'll only have 9 to go.
