I sent my 19 yr old son to take my 1989 mercedes 300E to see what is wrong with the ABS light coming on. He signed a piece of paper without understanding it was for A $250 diagnostic charge. This was not explained to him. When I called to find i was given an estimate for $7500 for various things wrong even though the car runs fine. the ABS sensor will cost $725. This is highway robbery. This has been my experience always with this dealership. I am liable to pay $250 whether I get the repairs performed or not. I asked for an estimate for the ABS light...not for everything wrong with this car. The estimate they have given me is 5 times more than what the car is worth.

David Michael should be cited for inflating the cost of repairs...it is asking to getting a CAT scan done for a headache.


I have a 2003 volkswagen jetta, i went to the dealer to get my car check because the engine light is on. I left my backpack in my car. inside my backpack is my casio exilim ex-z60 camera. After they check the problem, they said it cost around $370 to get it done, and its not on the warranty anymore because of my milages. So I told them that I'll just come back with my mom to get my car fix.

I got home and took backpack out of my car and went to bed. i woke up that night and check all my stuff in my backpack i notice that my camera is gone. So I thought that it might have fallen off my bag and its probably under the sit. so the next day after i get off work i search my car and clean everything, i cant find anything.

So i called the car dealer and told them that my camera is missing. and the customer service told me that he's going to tell the service manager and he will give me a call tomorrow because the manager left already. So i told my friend what happened and he called the dealer again and he spoke with the manager! and he said that they want us to go to the dealer tomorrow to check the security camera. so the next day we went to the place, and they told us (me and my friend) that they havent check the security camera yet, and they will call me when they found out something, and he told us to file a police report. So we went to the police station and file a report. today me and my friend called the dealer and he said he cant see anything thats going on inside th car because its on th edge of the camera, and he said that they are not responsible for anything thats left in the car.


Issue: Leased car/ Dealer paid off previous car loan of aproximately $12,000. Never received a quote of the sale of vehicle traded. And I have never been credited for the sale price of the vehicle. Will these monies be credited at the end of the lease? Because at this time I am currently paying for the cost of the car and the payoff of the traded vehicle.

Unfortunately I did not pick up on this at the time of lease, but because the lease is coming to an end, and in my review of the contract, I realize that the contract indicates that I made 0 down payment! This would not be true, because although they paid off the loan, the traded vehicle in event of it's sale would/should have generated at least a resale value of $8000 to $10,000. Again where is the credit. Am I missing something?



I have brought my 2002 Jetta into David Michael each time I have needed an oil change......I have also complained NUMEROUS times that my car is eating up my oil becasue it becomes "dangerously" low after 4,000 miles of not having an oil change. I have gone through 3 different oil comsumption tests and after each time they tell me nothing is wrong with my car....It is hard to believe considering that if I do not go exactly 3,000 miles to have my oil change it can become a problem as a result of the oil level being too low.



purchased a used volkswagon beetle, 2000. purchased an extended warranty and was advised by auto lenders place of sale to use the David Michael Motor cars for service needs under contract.

car overheated, temperature sensor went on, smoke all over. pulled over on the Garden State Parkway in the pouring rain and had the car towed to dealership. two days later (I have all receipts and documents) car was ready for pick up. drove half way home 20 miles or so and car overheated and sensor again came on.

Car towed back in. Service department not very accomadating when inquiring about a courtesy car so I can get home and to and from work. none available. recieved car back. Now the alarm(horn ) activates for no particular reason. brought car back in repaird- replaced arm in door and fuses.
(so far the coolant tank sensor has been replaced and the coolant expansion tank; amongst many other gaskets and miscellaneous parts)
car overhaets again back to service dept. at David Michael Motor cars and the water pump and thermostat are replaced.

car breaks down yet again and is again towed in (these are at my expense I am only reimbursed 50.00 for towing)

This time the car again has overheated and the head gasket is blown.After 1 week without a car again; i picked up the car and drive 50 miles and yes THE CAR LIGHT SENSOR IS FLASHING AND IT HAS OVERHEATED. I call the dealership to ask them to tow it back and they actually said they arent sure its their problem to use my AAA or warranty tow service!!I have left several messages there and no one has even returned my calls. So I sit again without a car. I do not think the head gasket was ever replaced if you saw the engine(to which I this time took pictures of) youd notice there are no new parts under the hood. not only are they the worse service department I have ever dealt with they have ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WHAT SO EVER!!!No apologizes for my inconvenience they respond like they dont even want to hear your problem..


I have paid out diagnostic fees for the same problem 5times.

I am again without a vehicle, which causes hardships for myself and family.



Brought my 1999 C280 Sport Mercedes in for service for a loud grinding noise in the engine area at 40,000 miles. At that time I also mentioned that the Air COnditioning panel would go black at times. There are constantly light bulbs out for the directionals. The dealer made the reapirs to the cars engine, drive pulley was rubbing on one of the other metal areas. The A/C panel was replaced. The A/C still not working properly. It going back in again. Three times in six months. The service desk personnel are not helpful and really do not want to hear the problems. Car was also delivered back with hand prints everywhere. This is my last Mercedes! This time when calling for an appointment there was a 30 day wait to get the car looked at!


Its just frustrating to pay so much for a vehicle that requires so much dealer attention!
