Josephine of East Meadow, NY on June 7, 2006
I was notified by Infiniti Financial Services in the beginning of May that my lease was due on June 2,2006. I was told I need to contact their third party inspection company that Infiniti deals with. The companies name is Alliance Inspection Management(AIM) which could be reach at (800)253-9026.
I called the Alliance Inspection Management and they were unable to give me an appointment until the end of June which was too late for me to take back the lease. They had me contact AIM customer service dept. in order to get me an earlier date for the inspection at (866)826-6927. It took them a couple of days to get back to me but eventually I received the date I needed which was June 2, 2006.
This was the start of all my stress and frustration toward Infiniti. I was then told as soon as this inspection is taken care of I could take it back to the dealer with the inspection report. I called the dealer that took over Able Infiniti(where I leased my QX4)which was Atlantic Infiniti located at 855 Sunrise Highway , Lynbrook, new York (516)536-9000. I actually called them for over month without a call back from their leasing manager Jim Rydberg. I finally ask to hold for him because he wasnt calling me back and the lease was due back in about 4 weeks.
I spoke to Jim Rydberg and I told him the situation and I needed to take the car back by June 2. He told me he had nothing available for me to drop off the car until the very earliest was June 26. I told him again the lease was up and the inspection was being done on June 2. He didnt care he was very busy with returns and would only help me if I was leasing another vehicle from him. I told him all the aggravation his company was putting me trough I was having second thoughts leasing through them again.
He replied that he wouldnt want to deal with me ever again. I told him that would be fine with me but he needed to give me a date to take back the vehicle. Going back and forth for about 20 minute he finally gave me the date for June 12. I took it because he gave no other choice. Then he started telling me make sure you bring it back with 4 keys 2 remotes and 1 credit card key. When I leased the car I told him I only received 2 keys and 2 remotes and that was what I was gonna bring back. He started arguing with me that I would be charged for the rest of the missing keys. I kept explaining that I never issued that many keys. I just needed to take the car back so I told him he would get back I had received.
I started to have second thoughts about taking it back there cause I might be charged for things that I never received. I started making calls to numerous Infiniti dealers. Many would not even speak to me unless the lease was purchased through their dealership. Finally I contacted Westbury Nissan and spoke to David Rivera. I told him my whole ordeal. He would be more than happy to take the vehicle back on June 2. David Rivera just told me to make sure I have the inspection report with me when I returned it. So I called and cancelled my appointment with Atlantic Infiniti because I was nervous Jim Rydberg would charge me for thing that were not accurate or even cancel my appointment last minute.
On June 2,2006 I was contacted Alliance Management Inspection to confirm the time of my appointment. AIM had to call me back to confirm the time. When AIM returned my call they notified me that they had to cancel the appointment. I spoke to a supervisor Kim Leiper at AIM. I told Kim Leiper my situation and I needed the inspection done on this day because my lease was up and I had an appointment with the dealer. She could really help me because they were short inspectors in my area and the next available date was the end of June. I said to Kim give me any area and I will bring it to the inspector , I just need this done today. Kim needed to get back to me and let me know.
I waited about an hour and still didnt here back from her. I called Kim every half hour to get information because I didnt want the day to go by and then have them tell me it was too late. I called Kim again about 11:30am to get status on my appointment and then she told me the inspector couldnt make it because he had gotten into a car accident. I told her I was sure someone else would be taking his place if someone is out. I felt like I was being jerked around by everyone involved with Infiniti. I finally told Kim I was leaving the country on June 5th and wouldnt be back for a month so I needed to have an inspection done today and I wasnt backing down until I had that appointment. Finally, Kim called me back and told me someone was on there way to my house to inspect the QX5.
Needless to say I finally had the vehicle returned but was very stressed for a month making all these calls in order to get this vehicle back.
I cant believe in New York how easy it is to lease a car but in order to return it nobody wants to deal with you unless you are ready to lease or make a purchase.
I was very stressed and harassed by Jim Rydberg at Atlantic Infiniti, Alliance Inspection Management, and Infiniti Financial Services. I was on the phone with every manager in all departments to get my situation rectified. I spent may hour on the phone with these people when I was at work.
