I bought my car at Star Mitsubishi 2010 Lancer about two weeks ago. I was overcharged $3,000. I was told by Joe (financial representative) that the total cost of my car was going to be $17,034 and I asked him when I get the financial statement that the total should come out to $14,034 because I put a $3,000 down. He replied, Yes. When I received my statement; it came out to $17,034. I went to Star Mitsubishi where I got the car and I asked them why my total is $17,034. It should be $14,034. Joe, the financial representative, said your car came out to $20,000 and I said, "No, that's not what you told me when I signed the contract." I specifically asked what was the total would be and Joe told me $17,034.
On August 16th, when I bought the car, I asked Joe for a copy of my contract. He never gave me a copy of the contract. He said I don't get one that it stayed with him for his files. On August 30th, I went to the car dealer to get a copy of my contract and I received a faxed. Joe charged me for two warranties that I didn't ask for. The warranties came out to $3,000. It is my understanding that I can remove the warranties within 30 days. The manager and Joe were rude and unprofessional. I have never been treated by anyone the way that they treated me. I have opened a case with Mitsubishi Corporation, which I am in the process of getting resolved. I would not recommend Mitsubishi or this dealership to anyone in the community. In today's economy, referrals are very important and I will make sure that everyone I know and work with knows how I was treated and deceived.
