Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Has work done on 2 other cars by this person operating under Family Auto on Ridge Crest Dr, so had him tow third car to get estimate on repairs to body damage from an accident. Gave $800 deposit on 3/18/10 (check #222) and he said he was buying a front end of a Saturn SC1 to make all the repairs and replace missing pieces. Car was dropped of at my house, he just showed up, by tow truck and Rodney said to call him for the bill.

Upon inspection during the twilight hour, we found additional damages to the car in addition to a missing antenna, and repairs not done as stated when the deposit was made. Called within 30 minutes of Rodney leaving, he never returned the call or furnished a bill.

Sept 10, 2010, he shows up at 10:15 pm demanding payment of $542 and became verbally abusive, threatening to take the car and yelling on my front lawn to sue him for a bill, he does not have to give me one, until I went indoors to call police. Police came and told me to call if he returns or if the car is missing and legal action can begin to trespass him or arrest him for theft of the car.

He returned to get vehicle information a week later, date uncertain, and again 9/27/10 after 10 pm attempting to repossess the car. He threatened to hurt my 18 year old son as he stood between the car and the tow truck in my side yard, waiting for police. Rodney handed me a paper (Notice of claim of lien & proposed sale of motor vehicle) stating it was a repo order, along with a "bill" that is fraudulent as the original in my possession does not contain all the writing he added to the copy he made. Said, "bill" also states working out a payment plan but there was never any payment plan made as he refused to furnish a bill. The police were called, he was trespassed and told he did not have a repo order.

This is in response to Gina in Port Richey. Outlaw Towing Transport & Recovery in Port Richey never performed any automotive repair to the said vehicle for the said person. We are strictly a towing, transporting, and recovery service for automobiles. I have never dealt with a woman named Gina with a 1999 Toyota Camry, and I do not appreciate any sort of repair complaints posted against my towing, transporting, and recovery business. This was brought to my attention by one of my customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter. There was never fraud committed by this company.

I brought my car in for repair to Outlaw Towing on 2/11/10. He replaced the water pump, spark plugs, valve, head, gasket, fuel injector, oil change, oil screen, 10 qts. of oil, motor flush, timing belt, new head bolts, fuel pump, and the sending unit. I paid in full the amount of $ 1,564.25 in cash. I have 2 itemized receipts from Outlaw Towing. I received my car back on 2/18/10. It seemed to be running fine.

The following morning, my car did not start. I called Rodney ** of Outlaw Towing and informed him of the problem. He indicated he would be by my home to pick up my vehicle. It took him 2 days to pick up the car, which was on 02/20/10. He had my car for a few hours and called me back and said my motor was cracked. I am familiar with cars and knew it was not my motor. Otherwise, it would not have run in the first place. I paid for my car to be picked up from his shop and brought it to another shop to verify his assessment.

I received a call back from Steve of Covenant Car Care located in Port Richey. He informed me that not one part has been replaced and/or repaired on my car. Rodney ** of Outlaw Towing stole over $1500.00 of my money and services were never rendered, although I paid for parts, labor, and repair. No services were rendered. I also just found out from research of my own that he does not have a valid business license to repair cars. He can only repair cars if they are towed and brought to his shop.

I like to lodge a complaint against him and to investigate the fraud he is committing. Well, I now have no vehicle to drive. I paid almost $200 to title the car, had to pay to DMV, and I do not have another $1500 to pay another mechanic to repair the car. I also have to pay this mechanic for the labor he performed to confirm what Outlaw actually replaced and/or repaired. It has put an extremely lot of financial pressure on me. I am a state employee and work from paycheck to paycheck. I would appreciate this matter to be expedited to the fullest. Thank you for your time and cooperation.
