I bought my 2003 Elantra in Fairmont WV from Larry Myers Hyundai. I had no problems and/or issues with my car. It was my very first car and loved it. The only thing i needed to do was have oil changes and routine maintenance. Larry Myers moved to Bridgeport and I work in Morgantown so i began taking my car there for any oil changes and maintenance it needed. Nothing was ever found wrong with my car at Morgantown Hyundai until the warranty ran out on my car, then they all of a sudden began finding everything wrong with it. At first it was $300 here for this, another $300, $400 for this and then when they wanted close to $300 just to replace belts on my car i decided to go somewhere else that was cheaper. They then told me my car was out of alignment and would have to pay $60.00 to have another company look at it i was like thats ok.

I took my car to a local mechanic and they told me that my car was fine. Then about 3-4 months ago they did a check of everything on my car to see what needed replaced and what was good or bad. They found about $400 dollars worth of things that needed fixed ie wheel barring, struts, brakes etc. I borrowed money to have those items fixed and they said everything else in my car was in good working condition-it was given a green indicator.

Then just last week I took my car there to have it inspected-something very easy and routine, about 15 minutes after my car had been dropped off Michelle called me and told me there was a problem-they could not pass my car due to a leaky strut. They said for them to fix it would be about $300. I told them no, it would have to wait, so they put a rejection sticker on my car. I went and ordered the part on my own to have a family member put it on, he told me to have it double checked because he knew that Hyundai of Morgantown was bad about telling you things needed fixed when they didn't.

So i took it to a local mechanic and he said that it was fine and nothing needed fixed and passed my car for inspection with no problems. I will NEVER go to Hyundai of Morgantown, whether it is for car work or to buy a car. I will tell anyone i come in contact to not go near that place that they try to nickel and dime you once the warranty is out on your car. I just find it very hard to believe that this much was wrong with my car as soon as the warranty was up. Wish i would have realized this sooner before i gave them so much money that probably wasn't needed.
