I purchased a Hamilton Beach microwave model HB-P100N30AL-S3 around July 12, 2011. The microwave stopped heating in January 2012. I called customer service and was told that I need the original receipt (copy would not be accepted) of the purchase. I do not have the original receipt, but was going to try and get a copy from Walmart. I asked if it would make a difference if the microwave had been registered.
The answer was no, that has nothing to do with the warranty. I was told that I would have to pay the shipping fee to return it. I read comments on the Walmart website concerning this model and found out that quite a few customers have had a problem with it. In the end, Hamilton Beach is getting over on customers who bought their merchandise. I should receive a refund even if I do not have the original receipt.
