We signed a 3 year contract with Saxon Business Systems, Jacksonville, for a copy machine last year at a lease rate of $283/month and copies at .012000 and .09000 each. Well we received our new bill this month and everything has gone up by 8%.
When I called Saxon to ask why, they stated it is in our contract. When asked where in the contract, (as I only have a one page contract) they stated it was on the back of the contract. Here is the thing I have a one page contract, with no back. They faxed me the contract they have for us and it includes a whole page of tiny verbage. It seems that this is the oldest trick in the book, signing a one page contract, that includes another page the consumer never sees.According to this second page, they can charge me an increase of 8% every year. Which adds up to a whole lot of extra money.
They are not being cooperative and I am only wishing to have this 8% increase amended, (if they want, cancel the lease without any penalties, then fine). Either way, I hope you can help.
Another company in our building has a copy machine lease with them also, again to discover no fine print page included in contract. (they have just been paying the increase without noticing.)
Being a non-profit we have to watch every penny just to make payroll, so I appreciate anything you can possibly do.
