They sold me a Panasonic Luminx (DMC-FX100) package with a 5-year extended warranty. Price was $503.95. I dropped it and I cannot find them. The phone number ** is not reachable from Alabama. The phone number on the charge slip is not longer available. I saw that another camera shop on Avenue O in Brooklyn was scamming others. Is this possibly the same one I purchased mine from?
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

When I purchased a digital camera for use in water, they sold me a five-year extended warranty. When I tried to claim damage due to water leakage, the company holding the warranty (CPS) refused the claim saying that the water damage wasn't covered for a water camera--only manufacturing defects. The camera was returned to me "beyond economical repair due to internal water damage."

I purchased a camera online through The Camera Whiz. I received an email to call them to confirm the order, but got a call from them Sunday night before I had a chance to call them. He talked me into purchasing a memory card and threw in a free camera case. When I got the UPS package and opened it up, there was an empty camera box in it! It took me 2 months, several calls (rude, intimidating men) to them and my bank, to get my money back! I also closed my debt card account because I was so worried they might make future bogus charges and sell my information out. Anxious times.
Out of my money for 2 months. Lots of anxioty.

I purchased what I thought was a good price for a Kodak v705 camera. when I ordered the salesperson wanted to sell me everything including the kitchen sink. I ended up getting a 5 year warranty, a 4gig memory card (which does not even work in the camera because it can only take a 2gig). After calling numerous times trying to get the warranty card, I gave up until I had a problem with the camera.
I contacted them regarding the warranty and they finally sent me the warranty card on . I tried to use the warranty because the camera is literally falling apart, screws are starting to pop out. Well the warranty company told me that I was sent the wrong warranty card and I really didn't have any way possibe of making a claim because it should have been done in the first 30 days. So basically I am out of luck. I went to far as to send them a fax of the purchase invoice showing everything I was telling them was true. Well to no avail. I am out a extended warranty and stuck with a camera that is falling apart. Great deal!!!!!By the way, everytime I have tried to call in, the people in customer service dont have any patience. Nice customer service

they still had kodak z1012 is listed as available and for sale. I ordered z1012 is. They sent me z1015 is saying they were justified in doing so because it was a better camera. It was not the camera I ordered, and I was not told it was discontinued. When I called, I told him I wanted to send the ENTIRE order back, accessories and all and get my full money back. He said he would not do that, and I would be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
How can he charge me a restocking fee when he sent me the wrong camera? He made a huge profit on the accessories and now does not want to accept them back since I don't want to do business with someone that sent me the wrong item on purpose. He was extremely rude and it was very humiliating. He treated me like a child. After the phone call, I was so upset I was shaking.
I will now have to send it back and fight through the credit card company to get my money back, which I'm not sure will happen. In the meantime, I will miss out on pictures of my 3 month old baby.

I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 255W GPS navigator from The Camera Whiz for $165 on 11-2-08. About a week later a guy from The Camera Whiz called me at my home and told me that the GPS navigator needed a special memory card. He was very insistent that I really needed this card. Not being familiar with GPS navigators, I agreed to purchase the card for an additional $99. I gave the GPS navigator to my wife on Christmas 2008. Through reading the Garmin instructions and discussions with technically knowledgeable individuals, I learned that the card was totally unnecessary.
The consequences were that The Camera Whiz convinced me to waste $99 dollars on a memory card that was totally unnecessary. I have since learned through internet research that The Camera Whiz is known for this bait and hook tactic.

I ordered a 205W GPS from this company online. I was told to call a number and I did only to be pressured into buying an SD chip to upgrade maps . I called Garmin and was told I didn't need this chip to upgrade as they put the new maps on DVD media. I called Camera Whiz back and told them I was informed that I did not need this chip so the rude guy I was talking to said if I keep it I would get a 5 year extended warranty. I asked what I would receive and he said an email. I never received anything.
In looking at all the consumer complaints I don't understand why the FBI or someone will not do anything to protect us elderly people from dishonesy companys like this.
I am stuck with a product that was falsely advertised and of no use for me. Thanks for your time

On September 26, 2008 I ordered a camera from The Camera Whiz. I received an email requiring that I call to confirm the order. When I did, they tried to up-sell me on a bunch of accessories saying the camera would not work without them. They continued to badger me until I agreed. Fifteen minutes after I got off the phone, I sent an email to their support department (which is what the website said to do) to cancel the order.
Two and a half hours later, I emailed again because I got no response. Two hours after that I called to cancel and they disconnected me. I called again a few minutes later to tell them again to cancel the order and I got passed through 3 or 4 people before someone finally spoke with me; the name was Vinnie?. He pushed and pushed me not to cancel the order and said that if I took delivery on the order and still didn't want it, I could return it. I said no because I did not want to pay the 20% restocking fee. He said he would waive the fee. I asked for that in writing and he said no problembut he never sent anything. I received the package yesterday and today I called to return it. Now they are refusing to waive the 20% restocking fee because nobody put it in writing.?
I explained that I had tried to cancel the order and Vinnie promised me that this would be no problem but he said there was nothing he could do. He continued to pressure me, bringing the price down to $800; but I told him that I just didn't want to spend that much on a camera. He continued to refuse to waive the restocking fee, but he finally gave me a return authorization number and I have sent the camera back to them. I believe these people use this practice deliberately to make money on re-stocking fees.
The website said that the policy may include a restocking fee if the order has already been processed (which takes from 1-4 days). I cancelled 15 minutes later!!! There would not have been a fee if I had not been badgered into taking delivery with false promises and lies! I would like this entire charge removed from my credit card.
It cost me $200 because they would not simply accept my desire to cancel.

I attempted to order a digital camera for their ad. price and the salesman was soooo rude and pushy, telling me to be quiet and just listen to what he had to offer. I told him several times I only needed the camera and he told me that the battery that came with the camera lasts only 5 min. and I must buy an additional battery for $49.95 and that if I did that he would give me a great deal on a 4GB memory card for me it would be $ 49.95 instead of it's real value $89. When I attempted to get a hold of the company there is a message that sayes they are closed and open during reg. business hours. That's when I called. I have no way to return the unwanted items!
I am out $329.00 when I tried to purchace a conon digital elph SD870 @ their ad. price of $169.00. How does that add up?

i order a canon camera July 2 with a two to 3 day order because i needed it for a trip on the 8 nothing was shipped to me. So i call them back and told me that it was on back order. I was so angry and told them to cancel my order. Because i got no call or email from them. When i cam back from my trip there was a box waiting for me. When i got home. Open it up and the camera came in.
I call this store and talk to some guys that gave me the run around. Witch got me more upset because. Everything i call they said that there was nobody that work here by that name. When i finally got a guy buy the name of Jeff. I told him that i was not going to pay for shipping it back and the told me that there was going to be a 25% restocking fee. I was so upset now. what can i do. I from LA and want to get money back. or help me close the store down before they do it to anymore people!
im down $559.99 in the whole because they charged my credit card when i told them to cancel.

I ordered a Canon SD850 IS on line with a $59 battery. The camera was supposed to be $169.00. A representative from the company called in a few minutes and said I had ordered the wrong battery. Needed one for $109. After much argument we agreed to a package of battery, case, tripod (turned out to be 6 inches high, not what I had envisioned as a triod) and a better memory card. Said the package would be an extra 109 for all plus the camera.
I got the camera and package and a lump sum bill for $383.99. When I called to complain he used his abusive language and said I was a liar about the agreed order. He fInally said, let me help you. I'll throw in a warranty or give you a $50 credit on your credit card. Rather than fight from 800 miles away I agreed to the $50 credit. What a crook.
I went to Walmart and found the better memory card for about $25 vs his 109 or whatever it was. I have no idea what the total bill was supposed to cover.

I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS at The Camera Whiz Inc. Little did I know that these folks were prepared to LIE to and GOUGE a customer. Following my online order, I received a phone call from the company telling me that they wanted to help me out by advising me that the product I ordered was not going to work satisfactorily. They said I needed some additional things to get the GPS to function correctly.
The first lie: The caller told me I needed a memory card or I could not update the software. A two GB card would fix the problem. (Real Story: The first update from Garmin was over 2 GB and had to be saved on my PC and installed from there, and the GPS has enough on board memory to save some routes for reuse.) The second lie: The caller said I needed was an AC power supply because the DC power cord would not charge the battery so I could not use the GPS unless I had a place from which to power it. (Real Story: The DC power cord and the Garmin supplied USB cable both charge the battery. The AC supply is nice but is NOT REQUIRED.)
The third lie: I needed some screen protectors for the touch screen on the GPS. (Real Story: Garmin does not recommend screen protectors because they reduce the sensitivity of the screen. Check the Garmin web site.) I did manage to get them to take NO for an answer on the extended warranty the lie was they charge you almost the cost of a new GPS if it ever needed repairing, and on the loss insurance. I will not tell you how bad I got skinned, but the final bill was more than double the advertised price. I would have returned the extra stuff, but I had opened it and was reading the GPS manual trying to figure out how everything went together when I came to the realization that I had been RIPPED OFF.
I estimate that the price I paid was about $250.00 higher than if I had purchased the GPS & equipment locally.

I purchased a camera via the internet in August, 2006. When I received the camera and accessories, the camera did not work at all. I called the company and they said to return it and they would send me a repaired one or a new one. I immediately returned the camera to Camera Whiz. After not hearing from them for a few weeks, I called the number on the paperwork I received from then and did not get an answer after several tries at different times on different days. I then looked them up online and read all kinds of information of shady business practices.
I determined that the odds of getting my camera or money back were slim to nothing. I cancelled payment on my Visa and it was approved. Today, January 8, 2007, approximately 4 months after returning the camera, a rep from Camera Whiz called and wanted to know why I cancelled the credit card payment. I told him I never heard from him and did not want to deal with such an unsavory company with the number of complaints they had with consumers agencies. He said I was in big trouble and that my call was being recorded because I owed him accessories purchased with the camera.
I told him I would return them in the same timely manner in which he dealt with me. So that would be approximately 4 more months and hung up. He called me back and threatened me again with legal action. I told him that he better not call again and that I would return the accessories if I could find them. I also asked why he never called to say what the status of my camera was after so many months and he said he didn't have my phone number. Well, he certainly had my phone number when I cancelled payment! He told me I was in big trouble.
