I shipped a damaged Spotting Scope to Pentax Service Dept. on May 12, 2011, under their "Worry Free" warranty. They received the item on May 17 and said they would replace it in 6 to 8 weeks.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I am an elderly unemployed person with limited income. My expection was that I was buying a quality product and that warranty would be honored. We kept the camera in a semi-hard foam lined case and it did not have one scratch. I called Pentax only to be told too bad. So...unless you want a disposable camera...do not buy Pentax.

I sent my Pentax Optio W20 to Pentax Service Department May 31, 2007 for repair. (Purchased the camera December 24, 2006). After much delay and 2 emails inquiring on repair, I was e-mailed July 13 from customer service representative Jensy Carranza saying camera was sent July 12, REPAIRED. On July 14 received an email from customer service rep Dorian Black indicating camera was sent July 12, REPAIRED. July 19 I received letter saying repair to camera would cost $185. In Sept. my husband mailedcheck for repair.
October 6 I sent email to Pentax asking where is the camera as the check cleared. November 9 I got an email from Pentax Customer Service Rep Paul C. indicating camera was shipped to me October 22. On October 30 I received camera with letter from Pentax dated JULY 11, 2007 saying camera was beyond economic repair.
Pentax Company cannot get their story straight! Why would TWO people tell me my camera was sent to me and then later tell me it would cost me to have it repaired? Why would they send me a bill dated July 19,2007 telling me to pay $185 for repair and then return my camera after I paid for it with a packing slip dated July 11, 2007 saying it was beyond economic repair and that I would have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for refund of the repair check?
