Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Well a lot of people complain about this place. I ordered stuff from this website, called the guy on the phone and he wanted to confirm with me that I was buying a grey market item. I told him I wanted something that would work, no questions asked. So he changed my order and I still got a fully functional canon rebel xti camera for a price less than any other website. everyone i see online complains about this site that they are trying to make you spend more money than you need. I think they were just helping me make sure i did not buy a product that may not be compatible with any software or possibly not work properly at all. Any questions?

I ordered the package on the internet that seem to be good priced. The total price was $1557 when I received the order I did not receive the lenses that were promised when I contacted them on the phone they played talked bead. I did see that they were lying. They sad that I should return the the two lenses but I did not receive proper invoice and I was afraid that I would not receive anything back.

The package that I have received should only cost about $900.00 according what they are advertising on the website. On the other websites would cost about $1,000.00 USAPhotoNation did charge me $1,557.00

I ordered a Nikon D80 package from them on-line last week for $800. Today, I recieved an e-mail asking them to call them. When I called he asked me for the security code for my credit card which I provided. He then asked me if I wanted the american camera for an additional $350 instead of the plastic chinese version that had no instructions in english and american attachments would not work for. He also told me the deal was good, but I did need to add the battery and charger for another $250.

I angrily told him they had completely misrepresented the product on the website and I wanted to cancel my order. He said Ok and hung up. I then received an e-mail saying the order was canceled. As of today, there is no charges on my card. I called the credit card company and they said they can not block them, but to keep an eye on the card and dispute any charges that come up immediately. This is the first BAD experience I have ever had in hundreds if not thousands of transactions on-line. BEWARE of this racket!

I shopped online for a new camera and saw the ads for photo nation. When i called about the 249.00 Canon Powershot s5 IS i was told that the price was for an import. He then proceeded to sell me other items that i may have bought eventually but was not really prepared for at the time. One of the items he sold me was a set of filters which he insisted i needed to protect my lens. In order to use the filters, it is required to have a lens adapter, which he said was included in the deal. When the package arrived, there was no lens adapter. I was told it is on back order first, then all was good and i should recieve it in a few days, then that they tried to ship it to me twice and the adapter was returned, then that it should be in by the end of the week to where i am now told the item is on back order and will be in before Christmas! Enough already! The adapter, costs less then 30.00. I don't think I will ever see it and if one of the other scammed people are correct, i was told i would recieve an USA model but apparently have an import.

I wanted to purchase Canon Powershot S5IS which was advertised for $249 on Usaphotonation.com, with free digital slave flash, tripod, lens cleaning kit and screen protectors. I then got an e-mail from them immediately asking for me to call them about the order. They told me that if I bought the pre-kitted, more expensive packages, I can have them right away. If I wanted only the camera as advertised, I would have to wait 4 to 6 weeks. I told them I would wait 4 to 6 weeks. After 5 weeks, I sent them an e-mail asking for status. No answer. I then called them, and their customer service rep told me that they are back-ordered and it would be 4 to 6 weeks. I told her I already waited 4 to 6 weeks. She said it will be another 4 to 6 weeks. I asked her how can I be sure that I would not be told another 4 to 6 weeks. She didn't answer this question and re-iterated that it will be another 4 to 6 weeks or that I had the option of canceling the order. I told her I would not cancel.

I asked to talk to management; she told me she is the management. Unbelievable. She then told me to have a nice day and hung up on me.

On June 12, 2007 I ordered a camera and 2 lenses plus accessories from Usaphotonation.com. The price listed at that time for the package was $1643.12. They called me on the phone to verify the order. That is what I thought until I received a call from Discover card asking if I authorized a payment to Usaphotonation of $2499.99 I did NOT. I called Usaphotonation immediately and tried to get it straightened out; they would not change it. I asked to cancel the order but was told that it had been shipped already, and I would have to call customer service when it arrived to get it settled. Discover card was withholding the difference between the billed $2499.99 and the ordered amount of $1643.12 ($856.87).

In my complaints to Usaphotonation, George said he would refund me $150 just to make me happy. Now I find out that the $856.87 credit that Discovercard gave me has been reversed. Unbelievable! That was just the first part of this nightmare. After the package arrived I discovered that the telephoto lens was not the one that I ordered. In fact it was approximately 1/4th the value of the one ordered. So after the hassle of getting a return authorization number from them, I shipped the wrong lens back by UPS (who confirmed delivery on June 25, 2007 at 12:50 p.m.). The request to send the correct lens was with the shipment. I have contacted them several times in the past by e-mail and phone. They will not respond other than they have no intention of sending the correct lens.

I dont believe they ever intended to send it to me. I believe this to be FRAUD since they do not intend to correct their mistakes. I requested that DiscoverCard credit my account the price of the lens ($1299.99) since I have not received the item. Discover Card will not do it because It is beyond the 45 day limit. (I reported this to DiscoverCard immediately after the scams occurred, on the phone 6 times. I sent 14 pages of documented evidence by mail and FAX to Discovercard.) I really think USAPhotonation should be put out of business so that others could be spared from being ripped off as I have been. I have paid $2349.99 for $1200 worth of camera equipment. Losing over $1100 to this rip-off company has caused my blood pressure problem to worsen and I have lost lots of sleep.

I purchased a Canon 40D kit. I was seduced into usaphotonation.com site through the cheap deals that they advertised. The guy I spoke to assured me I was buying a USA model Canon camera. He then talked me into getting a $200 lens, a 'high quality' memory card, and a 5 yr warranty.

He told me the cheap deal printed on-line was a 'grey market' or 'import' model with plastic bodies. He said that I would be getting a better deal paying for the USA model at a higher price (still this price seemed better than retail). When I received the camera, it came in a Canon import box; there was Japanese writing all over it. The memory card was generic (no brand name on it), the lens was obviously the cheap kit lens (18-55 mm NOT UMS, retails at $135.00).

I called Canon directly to run the serial number on the bottom of the camera. The Canon rep told me that I indeed had an import. On USA models the 3rd number should be a '2' - mine was a '1'. I then told him what I paid for the lens, he said it was the cheaper lens included with the retail packaged kits.

When I called photonation to complain, the guy said it wasn't an import but if I insisted I could send it back...with an additional 15% restocking fee!

USA Photonation, com adverstised http://www.usaphotonation.com/products.asp?product_id=14234#acc and I purchased the Sony DCR-SR200 Camcorder Gold Package for $439.95 and a Profesional 4 year Video Warranty Service for $299.99 for a total of $739.94 and charged it on my Citibank Mastercard. I received an email to contact them and then the cheating began.

I was told that the camcorder I ordered does not come with a charger! Why! because it is a wholesale price - I need to pay another $239. I ordered a wide angle lens and the sales rep said that it is plastic and they will give me a genuine one if I am willing to pay another $300 package and that is a special offer because I am a doctor! I asked to cancel my order and he said that cannot be done because it is non-refundable and the warranty service had been processed and sent. He wanted by CVC number and I refused to give that to him and hang up. I contacted my credit card company and Citibank said they cannot block the charge and the only way is to dispute it!

I should have read all the internet review first before ordering from USA photonation.

Unfortunately I bought a Nikon D40 before reading the complaints and called USAPhotonation to cancel and got the same run-around. Blah blah blah. The guy said I needed to pay 7% restocking fee and hung up on me.

I bought Nikon d80 from usaphotonation and I was immediatley informed that I would need to spend an extra amount for the battery and charger, so I said fine and put through the order. When I finally recieved the order, I found out that it was Gray Market which they never disclosed that it was until I pressed them on it.

I called back and the woman in Customer Service gave me a 3 year extended warranty and I thought that it would be fine. But now the order for the extended warranty has now been sitting in shipping for over 1 1/2 weeks which took me passed their 10 day return policy. At this moment I would just like to send it back and get a full refund

I got ripped off, I will not be able to get the camera serviced or updated.

I order a Canon Digital Camera Rebel XTI (Kit) and received an order number. The next day I received a letter saying to call them in regards to my order.

When I called he tried to sell me a battery and a battery charger. I told him I don't need it, but he insisted. He said that the camera I order don't come with BATTERY(?) it was a KIT! I said I was ordering a replacement camera.

Then he added that the camera was not on hand and they're waiting for shipment from Japan and take 4-7 weeks (ETA). I said that was fine.

That same day I received this email, "This is to confirm that your order has been canceled. Thank you, Service Department."

I purchased a Nikon D200 camera (with a USA kit), from USAPhotonation.com 4-30-07. I also purchased an extra battery and an extended 5-year warranty, total bill of $1638.99.

The camera arrived 5-3-07 with a bent compact flash pin making the camera useless and unusable. I contacted USAPhotonation.com customer service and explained the problem and their customer service referred me to a Repair Tech which I called. After explaining the problem, he referred me back to customer service as they should take care of this problem. I continued to get bounced back and forth 4 times.

Frustrated, I contacted Nikon directly and sent the camera to the NikonUSA factory for repairs. I received the camera back from with a statement that the camera I purchased is a "grey market" camera not meant for use in the USA, and the NikonUSA factory would not repair it.

At no time did USAPhotonation.com disclose that this was a "grey market" camera on their web site or in any of their correspondence. I have requested a return authorization and return address to return the camera 3 times, most recently 7-19-07 and every time USAPhotonation.com has refused to do this.

Ordered camera, called to confirm order. They tried to sell me battery, case, etc. Didn't bite.

Then he says "what about the chip used so the text is in English"? That threw me off. I said well, how much is it and he says Sony charges $300. Bringing my total to $800!

I tell him to cancel the order, and he tries to talk me back into the sell. I insist on canceling, and he says that there is a re-stocking fee ($40). I asked if they were ordering it from China? He gabbles on about this and that, and finally says your order is canceled sir! & Hangs up.

I'm being charged $40 for an order that was never placed.

I ordered a Sony Camera and soon rec'd an email that it was on backorder. I waited 7 weeks and then sent an email to customer service asking when I would be receiving the camera. I got a reply email saying the order was cancelled. I picked up the phone and called to say I didn't want the order cancelled, I just wanted to know when I could get the camera. The rude man on the phone said they could no longer get that camera and why would I not want to buy American anyway?! He continued to be rude and I hung up.

When my husband called, the man on the other end said, I can't hear you. Hello? Hello? and hung up.

We thought it was quite rude, but chalked it up to a learning experience. I didn't give it another thought until today when our credit card company called to say there were charges on our card which we obviously did not make. Now they have to issue us a new card. Coincidence? Maybe, but it sure makes me wonder...

Same bait and switch tactics others have complained about. Price on website was too good to be true. Received a follow up e-mail to contact them about the order. They explained I had purchased the wholesale price reserved for companies like Best Buy who buy in bulk....as if Best Buy is gonna order right off their cust web site. Total bull. Tried to explain that I would have to pay $400 to have the hard drive formatted. Tried to upsale me on another model.

Cancelled order. Explained their would be a 7% fee for order that's already processed. On my way to the bank to cancel my debit card.

I purchased a Sony DCR-SR100 camcorder, wide angle lens, UV filter, and 8 hour rechargeable battery, also USA Photo Nation gave me a free camera case. The sales person said they would send me the best wide angle lens they had. I received a Sony DCR-SR100 camcorder, wide angle lens with a value of about $25 retail, UV filter that did not thread on my camcorder correctly, a 2 hour rechargeable battery instead of an 8 hour and a camera case. Also when I tried the wide angle lens on my camcorder and it was like looking through a coke bottle clipping the corners of the video frame.

April 30th I ordered a Canon SD1000 digital camera from USAPhotoNation website because they had the cheapest price. They were also giving away free accesories for the camera . The order was confirmed via email.

Another email came on May 2nd letting me to contact them. The person who answered at the other end was abrupt and told me that my order had been cancelled.

I was shopping for a digital camera and found this place to be the cheapest around. But just as I was about to confirm the order something told me to check and see if this place was legit. I came across all of these postings. I am very glad that this site is out there because it saved me from a lot of headache.

I ordered a Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 for $199. I paid for 2nd Day shipping for $34.99. I was billed for $320. I called and asked customer service why the change, and they told me they gave me an upgrade, and offered to send me annother camera battery for the extra charge. I told them to cancel the order, and was told they could not.

Everyone I talked to was a complete jerk. I had ordered a canon camera, and called back to cancel because of a better price i had found. The salesman said it had been shipped and there would be 15% restocking fee wich came to a little over 50.00 and demanded to know what company gave us a better price.

Another story for your growing list. I too fell for the bate and switch tactics of USAPhotoNation. Great internet price, followup email and call suggesting I needed to upgrade, I bit, a half hour later I called to cancel the order, was told by my sales rep that it was not possible and to call customer service in the morning, called customer service and told that any cancellation would be subject to a 7% fee ($39.00 in this case), I refused, and took the situation up with my credit card company.

I would like the order cancelled and the $559.85 charge to my credit card refunded.

USAPhotoNation is, I believe, part of a ring of online scam and bait and switch companies operating without any consequence to their activities. They may also be a data collection point for credit card information. Other companies that may be involved include BestPriceCameras.com and ExpressCameras.com. Between March 9, 2007 and March 30, 2007, I have placed orders with all three companies. Each order was for the same item, a Canon EOS Rebel xTi with a lens. The prices ranged from $479 to $510.

After placing an online order with Expresscameras.com, I was notified that I needed to contact them regarding my order. The operator tried to up sell me with several accessories, but I told him that I only needed the item I ordered. I didn't buy any additional items and within 1 hour, I received an email that my order had been canceled.

The next purchase was made at BestPriceCameras.com on March 11, 2007. The order was placed online and I received a confirmation number. Within 24 hours, I received another email stating that my items were on backorder for 6-8 weeks. I waited one week and called to get a status of the order. I was told that the order had been canceled. I responded, canceled?. The operator said, Yeah. Canceled, and just hung up.

On March 30 and order was placed with USAPhotonation.com for the same item. I received a confirmation email. On April 1, 2007, I recieved an email stating that USAPhotonation was trying to contact me regarding my order. Gee, I wonder what might be wrong? Hmmm. Well I still don't know because Peter at extension 211 never returns calls. Nothing has hit the account, but I have changed the credit card number.

A whois lookup of the involved domains show different addresses for all three fronts, but that does NOT mean they are different companies. The greatest danger with companies like these is the possibility that they are trolling for CC numbers and either selling those numbers or may use them later (a year or two later) when a customer doesn't associate fraudulent charges appearing on a bill to them.

I ordered a Sony Camcorder and received a confirmation e-mail. Two days later Eddie called to tell me what I had ordered was a Chinese fake - if I wanted the US package it would be three times the price.

There are deceptive practices at work here - if no one can go after these folks then the sites like Froggle need to be help accountable for advertising companies such as USAPhotoNation.com

I ordered and paid for a Nikon D40 camera along with a UV filter 1 gig of memory and an extended life battery on 12/10/2006. In the sale reciept therewas a page that said the battery was on backorder in spite of being told that everything was in stock. In early January I called about not having recieved the battery. They said they had a computer malfunction and lost all their data and they would send a battery oput immediatly. I called back in late January and they said they sent it. and I recieved it on jan 19th. Not true. They said they would put a trace on it through the post office. I called back in Febuary. They said I had recieved it in January. I told them I hadn't. They said they'd put a trace on it and get back to me by e-main. Haven't heard form them as of 4/1/07. I just figured I've been ripped off.

I ordered a Canon Digital Rebel XTi black camera body from usaphotonation.com for the listed price of $289.00 on 19Mar07. On 22Mar07, I recieved an email about a problem with my order and to call Thomas. Thomas said the camera I ordered was the Japan version (Japanese menu prompts), and if I wanted the North American version is would be ~$700, and I should have known that from the price. I informed him that I didn't order the Canon EOS Kiss Digital X (Worldwide Canon Naming convention for the Japanese), but the ... Rebel XTi (North American version). This seemed to be a deceitful tactic, so I asked to speak to his supervisor, but Thomas refused and said he will cancel my order.

Using www.mysimon.com, USAPhotonation had the lowest priced product on a US sony camcorder. I purchased it online. I then received a email from one of USAPhotonation's representatives, named Greg. The email read, please contact us regarding your order prior to shipment. I contacted Greg and he advised me that I should purchase another more expensive US model Sony camcorder, with various accessories, which I did.

Greg told me to look up this new model using the sony model number and us on their web site. I did. Later that night, I looked up the model on the their website and found that the price was less than half as much as Greg charged me. USAPhotonation was closed, so I contacted my credit card company and they advised me to cancel my order the next business day. I contacted USAPhotonation and explained to them that I wanted to cancel my order. They refused to allow me to cancel my order and hung up on me various times. They told me that even though my order had not shipped yet, I could not cancel it unless I spoke to Greg. Greg refused to take my call.

A few days later, I received my order. I received a Japanese version rather than the US model camcorder I had ordered. The Japanese version had no US waranty and was not capatable with NTSC televions in the US. My credit card company advised me to return the products to USAPhotonation. However, the packing information and the website contained no physical location to return the products. I called USAPhotonation and eventually spoke to Greg. Greg refused to provide me with their address and return authorization number.

So I contacted UPS and requested the address that the product came from. UPS said the product came from RADIOACTIVE DEALS from Brooklyn, New York. I returned the products and USAPhotonation refused to credit my account approximately $700.00 of the purchase price. My credit card company credited my account said amount after having to file a dispute with my credit card company.

I looked online to buy the canon sd800IS digital camera. I found them to be advertising the cheapest price, so I ordered it. I got an email stating that the order was recieved. The next day I recieved another email stating I needed to call customer service and speak to Jaime. I did call them back and when he answered he was very condescending and he asked for my security code to process the transaction. I gave him the security code without any interrogation. He then started to ask why I didnt buy the battery pack, the recharger and or the data cable with the cd. I said I wasnt aware that it didnt come with those options. He then said that if you look on the website it fully states all of the items that it comes with. He said the camera would not function without those items and that I needed to buy them and it would be an extra 60 dollars to purchase the camera with those items. He said I couldnt find a better price any where and that I was stupid to think that I could...

I then asked for his supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. I asked for his boss and he said he was his boss. I asked for the name of the owner of the company and he said: they are out golfing or something. I then told him to cancel my order and he said he would not. So I told him that it was find if he didnt but that I would call my credit card company and have them refuse the transaction. He said that I couldnt do that, so I said: watch me.. have a nice day talk to you later.

I hung up the phone and seconds later I called my credit card company to inform them of the problem. Seconds later after that I noticed an email come in that said that my order had been canceled.

The USAPhotoNation.com website lists the Sony DCRDVD550 4MP Handycam Camcorder for US $369.00 and a free bonus of accessories valued at $209.96. I called and the person said that was the Chinese model and that the US model was about $700.00. They list the product as the lowest in pricegrabber.com and other comparative shopper web sites. The website for this Sony product does not state that the model is a Chinese model and not a model sold and used in the USA.

I ordered the camera from usaphotonation.com from online transaction on 2/27/06. I paid by credit card and got the invoice printed out after the transaction is done. However, I didn't receive the camera after 12 days. I called the number but the rude representative tell it's in back order so it's cancelled. How can they cancel the deal and the offer w/o my consent? When I continue to ask question, the rude rep simply handed off the call.

Ordered the low price Canon S3 camera after a search of internet on 2/28/07. Received confirmation of order at the original low price (and an email asking me to call).  When I called at 11AM on Thurs. March 1, Jamie or the person who answered extension 214 asked for the secuirty code on my AMEX card which I provided. He then proceded to ask why I had chosen the imported model vs the US model. I explained that I did not select an imported model and he indicated there was no way to find a US model for the price they had quoted so I inquired as to how much a US model would be and he gave me a price that was $35.22 higher than the original order so I told him to cancel the order (appeared to be a classic bait and switch ploy), he began to argue that since the order was already processed my only options were to accept the non-US model or upgrade to the US model for addtional cost.

I repeated to cancel the order and that I would not accept delivery , I would inform American Express to reject the charge and I would not pay for the item. Within minutes of the phone converstion, I got an email saying the order had been canceled.

Bought a camera and then salesperson told me I have to buy extra battery for $49.99 it comes with free charger. Factory battery doesn't last long, he gave me total then told me to enjoy the package then hang up.

I ordered a Canon 30D. Just as predicted from your website, they emailed to say that I had to get in touch with them. The minute I mentioned reading this website and stated that I wanted to know when the camera was going to be shipped and that I wanted only the camera, Ben (the person I contacted), stated Then the order is cancelled. The website says that the camera is available. What I was told this means is that the camera is available on the market to be sold, not that it is in stock ready to be shipped. When I asked for a shipping time, he hung up.

I received a call from a salesman after ordering a Sony T50 digital camera claiming the product I ordered on the website normally came with "regular AA batteries," not a Lithium rechargeable battery pack, and that it would be an upgrade to get the camera with a rechargeable pack. They proceeded to charge me for the $80.00 "upgrade," even though the website clearly states the camera is standard with a Lithium rechargeable battery pack.

I truly hope ConsumerAffairs.com can help the many people who have been defrauded by this website.

I orderd the Canon 400D from usaphotonation.com located at 164-15 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica NY 11432, I ordered it 3-5 dat mail. Two days after my order I recieved a email from Greg who wrote: Dear Customer, We are attempting to contact you regarding your order. Please call us at 1-800-872-3143 or 1-347-394-1380 and speak to Greg exten-sion 213 in regards toyour order. I called him and he informed me that the camera would be a few days late but that he would waive all shipping cost. A few days later I decided to check the tracking at their customer servive and was told the camera would arive in about a month. I told them to cancel my order which they still have not done.

I suffered anxiety due to the fact that the camera was ordered for a trip to Central America that had to be postponed twice now because of the dishonesty concerning when the camera would arive. Greg was also extremly rude and added insult to injury when he refered to me as an idiot for buying from them. Greg also threatened me as we argued by sayng he was of Pakastan's Harrari family which he claimed practically owned Central America (where I planned to use the camera). I also missed a day of work trying to settle the order with photonation.

I ordered a Sony digital camera which they advertised at the lowest price of anyone. I got a 3-5 day delivery because I needed it for a trip. When I hadn't received it after one week I tried to contact them online, but the website indicated the customer service line was not working. I called their 800 number and got the voice menu for customer service that directed me to the website. After another call this same customer service number asked if I wanted to place an order and then I was able to talk to someone about my account.

I was informed that I had purchased a Chinese model that had no instructions in English and that all the instructions in the camera were in Japanese. He suggested that I upgrade my purchase to the American model (which was $60 higher and priced approximately the same as their competitors on the web). He said he could ship that camera out immediately.

I ordered a camera over the phone. I was told I needed other accessories for this camera for an additional $150.00. There was to be free shipping and it would ship the next day. I received an e-mail within a few minutes of the call placing the order and the amount charged to my credit card was now higher than I was quoted on the phone. I called to cancel the order and was told I could not cancel the order as it had shipped. I refused the delivery and they did put a partial credit thru to our credit card. The amount charged was over $50.00 and they called it a restocking fee which the credit card company will not dispute.

After numerous phone calls, many hours on the phone and much yelling and abuse from the company people, we finally got a partial reimbursement of the "restocking fees". I do not trust this company. The end result was a financial loss of $28.89 but the stress and abuse of dealing with this company has made us very concerned about ordering products.

My 20-yr-old son found what looked like a great deal to replace a Sony digital camera. He used my credit card to order it online from USAPhotoNation. The charge didn't hit my account, so I called USAPhotoNation the next day to straighten it out. They said they needed 3-digit security number from back of my card; the number on the tape was worn down & illegible--so the first try by the customer svc. guy (supposedly) didn't work. While we talked, he asked why we were only getting the camera, and not a complete package because this wasn't a USA model camera and would cost $95 to convert. [BAIT AND SWITCH] I stupidly agreed to the upcharge for the complete package, and he transferred me to 'Billing' so they could try a different guess at my 3-digit security code.

Long story short, it turns out they were trying to put through this $224.99 charge TWICE against my credit card. My bank said once I'd authorized the charges, the transaction can't be stopped from this side if the vendor won't cancel the order--I'd have to file a police report after it's charged and they'd give my money back and the police would go after them. I called and insisted to 'Sally' that I wanted to cancel the order; she was beligerant and insisted cancelling the order isn't possible. By then I'd found this consumer complaint site and was aghast. USAPhotoNation was trying to swindle me out of $449.00. My bank gave me a hotline to call in a police report. I called back USAPhotoNation and explained that I'd be filing this police report, and then the hateful snarly person on the phone said I'll cancel your order right now.

This site uses the bait and switch technique of sales. They show a great price and great reviews of the everyprice.com site. Once my order was placed I received an email telling me that I forgot information. When I called in to complete the order for the camcorder I was hard sold into adding a larger battery for $130 dollars (which I have since learned is at least $30 more then any other website/store sells the name brand battery for). When my package arrived I did not receive the battery I was strong-armed into ordering.

After numerous emails which were not addressed and phone calls a lesser battery was sent out to me. The battery was not only not the name brand but was also not the right one for my camcorder. After numerous more emails and calls I am being sent another battery. I have also since found no less then five other review websites with multiple complaints stating that this company is using fraudulent selling techniques. If I had found then sooner I would have never purchased here.

I ordered AG-HVX200 1/3 3-CCD 16:9 HD/DVCPRO/DV Cinema P2 camcorder for $2,089. I then received an email a few days later informing me there is an issue and that they needed to speak with me. I then called back andthey informed that it had been shipped but I had just ordered only the frame of the camera for that price. If I wanted to order the whole package it would be $5,000 dollars instead. I knew exactly that this was a con so I stayed calm and said well I need the whole package, of course, so I will need the whole thing to shoot video.

So what do I do when the first camera comes (seeing it is only the frame) Should I send it back and wait for the new package? He then said well actually, I can stop that order because it still has to go through the second warehouse. I said good! it hasn't really shipped then. Well then I would like to cancel the whole order and not be charged for anything. Hesaid I would be charged a 15% restocking fee and shipping.

I ordered a camcorder from them and they attempted a bait and switch because the version I ordered is not the USA Model and had no batteries, cables, firmware(??), etc. They attempted to upsell me with the same model... a USA Model version.

The USA Model was significantly more expensive and the person on the phone attempted to pressure and argue with me into authorizing a charge to my credit card. The advertised model would 'not work' without a firmware upgrade. I requested my order be cancelled, but the seller attempted to negotiate with me for a lower (yet more expensive than advertised) price. The seller attempted to bully me, repeatedly placing me on hold, before finally relenting and cancelling the order.

I had accepted the rating found on www.shopcartusa.com, which now appears fraudulent. Had I done proper research, I would have seen that I am NOT the only unsatisfied person.

I placed an order on a Canon DVD405 camecorder for $450. Shortly I received an e-mail to call them and confirm my shipping address. I did and I spoke to a representative and they told me that I need a battery for the camera and it would cost me $200 extra. At that point I thought that the price was too high so I told them to cancel the order.

At that moment his attitude changed and he kept trying to pursuade me to buy it but I asked to cancel my order. The guy said fine and then hung up on me.

I looked back into my order and noticed that it was not cancelled and that the battery was added to my order. I called them back and after being hung up on and transfered 6 times I spoke to someone and again asked them to cancel my order. They were rude and did not want to talk to me. They kept changing my price and wanted to add things to my order. Finally they said they would cancel my order and hung up on me.

I ordered the camera (Assuming it would come in the factory sealed package with all the accessories)...It DIDNT. He told me that i only ordered the CAMERA ITSELF. I talk to my mother, she told me it already sounds like a bad company, but i didnt listen to her . BAD CHOICE OF MINE. Anyway I called back and told the guy that i wanted to really cancel my order and he kept pressuring me to add this and that to my order.

Next time I will definitely be sure to research the company itself rather than relying on merchant rating system. To summarize, I order on 11/21/06 a Canon A630, few days later I was emailed to contact them. I did that and after a quick sales pitch they wanted to verify my 3-digit security code. Did that. It's 12/7 and I still haven't received camera. Called--and Vincent essentially told me that I didn't talk to him the first time, and then proceeded to offer sales pitch again for accessories. Luckily (for me!!) he offered warranty and that's when I said that the manufacturers warranty will be good enough -- with that he said that it's an import camera. I asked him what he meant by that, and apparently I'm buying a camera that is imported with no warranty and in Chinese.

I ordered a camera, then received an email saying to contact them because there was a problem with my order. I called and spoke to Nathan who told me I needed to buy a battery pack. I was surprised a battery was not included but did order one after much sales pressure. Then I went back on line and saw that the camera did infact include a battery.

I also discovered this website! I am so sorry I did not see it sooner. I called back and waited 30 minutes on hold for customer service. After much yelling and screaming I think I got the order cancelled.

As soon as he acknowledged my battery pack cancellation he said the camera was on back order for nine weeks. I told him to cancel the whole order and I am hoping he did.

I called to order a canon 710 digital camera for the advertised price of $234. After a very long and pressured sales pitch from the sales guy about how I needed to order all the filters, batteries ect. and i declined all of his extras he said the camera did not come with the accessories listed as shown but that the price was for the camera only? If i wanted the cd, strap,2 AA, and the couple other items listed by canon to be standard in the camera box it was going to be something like an extra $100. That was somewhat puzzling however he had worn me out with the sales pitch for all the other items by then so I agreed. I had also asked in my opening question that the camera was brand new and came in a factory sealed box and he said it did. I asked for the 3-5 day shipping at $25 for shipping and handling. the camera price of 234 and the shipping should have been around 259. He said it would cost 299 billed to my visa i had already given him.

I called him on the extra 40 and he said it was insurance! He said they dont ship without insurance. ... It had been such a wearing ordeal I was willing to pay way toooo much for the insurance just to get the purchase. He said it would ship the next day. They didnt ship for 3 days, The box came not sealed but opened and the camera itself was loose in the canon box, had been used and put back in the bubble wrap and not sealed, No paperwork as to the warranty, registration # on a card with the serial of the camera, quick start card or basic operation manual.

Like many others, apparently, after ordering a camera, I recived an email saying I must call. In order to ship they needed my 3 digit security code. When I said that I had completed their order form and said I wouldn't give my code on the phone, the person accused me of being fraudulent and was very rude. He said he was refusing the order. This is very fishy.

BAD NEWS - STAY AWAY!!! Got an email 2 days after I ordered saying they needed a sec code off my card. Beofre I called back, I googled their comapny name to confirm the phone numbers were the same, and all of this complaint info showed up. Then when I called them and questioned WHY they needed the sec code since it was already given to them, they were very nasty and said they didnt need my $200 sale anyways. Wish I would have seen this before. Its worth paying more to get your camera from a reputable company.

We were shopping for a digital camera & found usaphotonation.com to have the best prices to be found. We placed our order online. Things seemed to be fine until we received a phone call almost a week later from Jared a customer service rep. at photo nation. He said he needed the security code from the back of our card. My husband told him we already did that when we placed the order, but Jared insisted that we didn't. This call came right when we were fixing supper, kids were crying etc., it was chaos! My husband gave him the number again & then Jared tried to sell us a battery for our camera. My husband said no thanks, just send us the camera & that was that.

Three days later we checked our account online & the camera still hadn't shipped & a $70 battery had been added to our order! We called Jared & that's when we experienced the worst customer service of our lives!! Jared said the order couldn't be cancelled, because it had already shipped. Then he proceeded to question us about why we wouldn't just buy the battery. At this point we asked to speak to a manager & he said there weren't any managers working that day, in fact he was the only one working that day.

We assured him that consumer affairs would find out about this & he said, Ooooh, I'm really scared, & actually laughed at us!!! After all this he said he was just having a little fun with us & would go ahead and cancel the order. It's been two days since that awful phone call & I just got an email confirmation that our order was cancelled. We shall see.

There has been no economic consequence so far, but we have no trust or faith in this company or their employees whatsoever. It is sickening that they have our credit card information. We called our credit card company & asked them to refuse any charges from photo nation & to let us know of any unsual activity.

I was looking for the Canon SD630 camera and the best price I could find was on USAPhotoNation.com for 219.00 + 19.00 shipping. I was so happy that I found such a great deal that I purchased the camera.

I received an email confirmation within a few minutes. The following day I received an "important information" email asking me to call regarding my order. The rep, asked for my 3 digit credit card number and my bank phone number, then asked me why I wanted the European module and not the US module. I told him that all I wanted was the camera I saw on their website with the original items (i.e. cable, battery, software and the camera). He replied that for the price I paid I would only get the camera and that I should also get the extra 4GB SD memory card for only $599.00!!

I told him to cancel my order. My advise - STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Started to order from USAPhotoNation.com After doing some shopping around I found this company listed Canon Powershot S3 IS Pro for $259. What a deaql I thought and ordered it. But the more I thought about it, it seemed to good to be true. Decided to do some research. I began reading on this site and others about the company. With in an hour of placing my order I cancelled it. After getting a number of emails like those list in other complaints and shown below I called to confirm my cancellation. USAPhotoNation.com said they had would cancell it.

After getting four emails to call James about my order which I replied I had cancelled it I called again. I finally called again and was connected to James. Before I could explain I was asked for my credit card number to adjust the order. I explained to James that I had cancelled the order, replied to several emails that I had cancelled the order and now I was calling him in resposne to his email. Oh you want to cancel your order he stated. I informed him that after all this if the company sent anything I would donate it to charity and after I finished this call I was going to call my credit card company and inform them not to allow any charges from USAPhotoNation.com. I hung up and within five minutes I got the email listed below. My suggestion is stay far far away from such a company

From: Subject: Important Information About Your USAPhotoNation.com Order#: 91793-297735088-S Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2006 11:44:07 -0400 This is to confirm that your order has been cancelled. Thank you, Service Department

I ordered a camera and four, yes, 4 days later I get an E mail asking to call Jason. He asked why I ordered the imported model-which didn't come with battery, cables etc (and probably the Mandarin Chinese owners manual that someone else got!!!). I told him to hold off on order and I was going to look at other models. He said I'll just cancel it and hung up on me so quick I didn't have a chance to respond.

Took about 4 seconds to receive an E mail confirming cancellation-but four days to send an E mail telling me to call them with my CRV Code ???

Rude, slow, and doing a bait and switch.

I ordered a Sony digital camera which they advertised at the lowest price of anyone. I got a 3-5 day delivery because I needed it for a trip.

When I hadn't received it after one week I tried to contact them online, but the website indicated the customer service line was not working. When I called their 800 number and got the voice menu for customer service that directed me to the website and hung up! After numerous attempts to reach someone in customer service I called as if I wanted to place an order and then I was able to talk to someone about my account.

I was informed that I purchased a Chinese model that had no peripherals and all internal instructions in the camera were in Mandarin Chinese. He suggested that I upgrade my purchase to the American model (priced approximately the same as their competitors on the web). He said he could ship that camera out immediately. I reluctantly agreed since I needed the camera. However, they still did not ship the camera, claiming some credit card question.

I cannot reach anyone to cancel my order so I can purchase a camera locally.

My experience with USA Photo Nation was terrible.

The price on the base camera was good, but their accessories are double the price of Best Buy or Circuit City. USA Photo Nation never got my entire order shipped, yet they billed me for all of it.

Nobody answers the phone in customer service, even if you let it ring 50 times. Nobody calls back and nobody responds to emails. The only thing they do efficiently is charge your credit card account.

I buy a video camera Sony, the price was $477, two days later received a email that I contact the company and ask for JASON, when calling said to me the camera additional charge of $55 dollars for the accessories. They asked for security code of my card, when check my account they made two debit in my card a $695.13 and another for $691.

I am delayed but of one week in giving back it to me, after reimbursed in my account have appeared fraudulent positions almost by the same amount of $691.

I purchased a Canon a530 digital camera and had to call to find out why my order had not shipped. I was told I only orderd a replacement camera and that I needed to order a package to receive cables and the rest of the accessories. Retailer threatened to send me an empty box.

The ad was misleading and customer service was horrible. I was yelled at several times when I tried to cancel my purchase.

Similar to other complaints on this site, I ordered a video camera, then received an e-mail requesting that I contact the seller and ask for Jason. I called Jason and he asked for the security code on the back of my credit card. No problem so far. Then he proceeds to ask me why I didn't order a battery or charger with the camera. I was astounded! I asked him what he meant about not ordering a battery or charger, and he told me I had only ordered the camera and it did not come with a battery or charger. I needed to order the camera "kit", and that would cost extra. I basically told him that the company was using deceitful practices and canceled my order. These guys should be put out of business.

I ordered a Canon SD-550 digital camera from USAPhotonation. After searching the web, they had the lowest price of $315 + shipping. I checked their website and the price was the same as the search engine's so I placed the order.

I then received several phone calls and emails regarding "need to contact you regarding your order." I called and was told the camera I ordered was the "Japanese version and comes with Japanese manuals. The US version is $99 more." I declined the US version and told them to send me the Japanese version for the price stated on their website, $315.

The guy stated that this was an error and the actual price was $395. I asked why the "error" was not corrected and he stated it was a "typographical error".

He then referred me to their disclaimers, particularly number 3. This reads, "we are not responsible for typographical errors." I should have said no thanks, but I relented and said "just send me the US version for $395." I received my camera with an invoice for $459.99!

They have a minimum 15% fee for returns, so I'm keeping the camera rather than going through that ordeal. I absolutely do NOT recommend anyone doing business with them. Their business practice, I believe, is fraudulent, unfair, and unethical.

I ordered a Canon SD-450 online. The very next day I received an e-mail stating that I needed to contact Charlie about my order. I called the 800 number and left a message for Charlie. After no return phone call for 6 hours, I called back. This time I was able to speak with someone. He asked me what warranty I wanted, the 1 year, 2 year, or three year warrantry. I advised him that I would just go with the standard warranty that Cannon provides. He then told me that the camera I ordered was the "foreign model" and did not come with a warranty. So, which warrant did I wish to purchase. I inquired as the the price of the one year warranty - $70. I told him that I did not want the camera - he immediately hung up without a word. Less than 2 minutes later I received an e-mail that my order had been cancelled.

I ordered a Canon camera on 1-27. After not hearing from them in a week I looked up my order on their web site and there was a message to contact Jason @ 800-872-3143 x-215 about a problem with my order. I called and left messages until I finally contacted them. I was on hold for 12 minutes and he came back on the line to transfer me to processing. I waited over 5 minutes on hold when I was asked if I already had a camera, if I knew about Canon cameras, etc. I said yes and asked what this had to do with the order. He said that this camera came with no manual, cables, batteries and no USA warranty.

I asked if this was a grey market camera, and he said yes. I told him that nowhere on the web site did it say anything about this - he didn't argue. He told me if I paid $100 more I could get these things. I was incensed and told him to cancem my order. He did not mention anything about a cancellation fee so I'm waiting to see if anything happens on this front. This is a classic bait and switch store - plus they deal in grey market equipment. I could not find a street address, city or state on their web site, but their fax number (208) indicates they're in Idaho.

I also received a call shortly after I placed an online order. I was told that I had ordered just the basic camera a Fuji s9000,and that it did not come with the accessories. The price to the USA KIT was $400 more. This was the beginning of the scam... what happened after that was the typical upsell, shell game with Kenny, as the fast talking salesman, who would put the most dishonest used car salesman to shame! I ended up with a shipment order of almost $2500...which he claimed was deeply discounted from the almost $3400 value of the equipment. I thought, Okay, I'll do it. I felt rushed and pushed....my fault for continuing the conversation.

I thought at least I could cross check the values from the envoice when it arrived...not so...EVERYTHING,including the shipping and handling, was wrapped up into a Package price...clever. I did cross check it anyway and found that I had indeed paid well more than FULL PRICE! Calling Kenny to return it, he was of course incensed that I was even considering returning it....reminded me of the 15% restocking fee...which I told him I would pay....he said to try the camera over the weekend and hung up. I have called back and attempted to talk to the returns department and they just trandferred be back to Kenny's ectension...which surprisingly enough only continued to ring until it disconnected! Additionally, there is no address listed on their website and no way to return this without their cooperation!

Needless to say, I wish I had found this site BEFORE I placed my order...now I may have to find a way to sell this camera on my own! Ouch..painful lesson...so much for the 4.5 star rating they had with the site I got their name from...they will get a letter as well!

Believe it or not the salesperson I spoke with on the phone actually threatened me. I found a Nikon D50 with a Nikon lens listed on their website for $399. Wow! I thought. I called up and asked to order 2 products - the Nikon set and a filter package. First the salesman took all my info down including my credit card number. Then he asked me which charger I wanted the 180$ one or the even more expensive one. "Isn't this a box from the factory?" I asked. "Of course" the salesman replied. "Whats included in the box?" I asked.

At this point the sleezesman went through a big long speech about how he was going to upgrade my camera to an $800 set for only $580 and give me the filter set at a discount. By the time he was through I wasn't sure what I was getting. I just wanted a basic camera set but it turns out the one advertised for $399 does not include a charger, coputer cables, software or anything. I started to feel a bit confused and pressured, after all this is not what I called up to buy. I politely told the salesperson I needed to cancel my order.

This is when things got ugly. The salesman told me that I had "wasted 18 minutes of his time". He also told me he was going to "blacklist me from all websites" and "Good luck buying a camera except for $900 at your local retailer". Well guys I went to another website and bout the camera for a great value from a company with good customer service. At first glance USAPhotoNation seems like it has some great prices but dig a little deeper before you buy. It's confusing and pushy NY style dealing and poor customer service make this company a poor overall value.

It made me cry and worry about fradulent charges on my card

I ordered a digital camera from this company over the internet. When I found out the price was only for the camera and not the accessories, I canceled the order. In the process of trying to cancel the order, Jamie argued with me how I wouldn't find it cheaper anywhere else and he knew I was going to order it from some other internet company. He was was rude, argumentative and unbusinesslike. He said to hang on for two minutes then came back on the phone and said ok, it's cancelled.

The charge showed up on our charge card, so I called and he said I never canceled the order and it was already shipped. He refused to credit our card and was extremely rude and would not allow us to speak to anyone else. We called back and got the same treatment from a gentleman named Thomas who finally (after approx 10-15 mins.of arguing) agreed to transfer the call. We waited on the line to dead silence for about 15 mins. until we hung up and called again only to get Thomas who refused to help us.

I am ready to buy a particular camcorder so I was searching for the best price online. USAphotonation's price was $156 less than BestBuy so I was almost ready to purchase there when I found this website. Thank goodness I did b/c I called the company to verify that the camcorder came with a battery. First, there is no mention of USAphotonation on the recording or when customer service (ha!) picked up. When I finally spoke with someone he was very rushed and rude. I asked my question and he replied that for $289, that is just the shell of the camera. So I said, "So I'd need to buy a battery then." He said, "Well, that's one option, do you need a battery?" I said, "Well it won't WORK if I don't have a battery, right?" He said, "That's a very good point."

This guy was serious and condescending. At that point he told me that what I should do is purchase some kit (that gives you all of the stuff you'd normally get with the camera) for a total cost of $445.95. That's what it is at BestBuy and there I wouldn't have to also pay shipping! So I said I'd get back online and look at that package and before I got the words out the line was dead. He'd terminated the call practically as soon as he got the words out. My advice would be to run don't walk away from this company. If this is how they treat you when you want to place an order I can only imagine how they'd treat you if you were trying to get your money back. You do get what you pay for.

I ordered a Canon Elph 450 from USAPhotonation on January 12, 2006. The next day I received a call that they had a question on the order. When I contacted them, the sales rep asked which spare battery I wanted and what size SD card I wanted. When I told him that I already had these items, he asked which warranty I wanted. I told him the standard Canon warranty was fine. He replied that this camera is the Japanese model and doesn't have a warranty. At that point, I said cancel the order. They did offer the lowest price I found, but clearly they were only willing to sell at that price if I opted for additional accessories. Overall, a waste of time.

What happened to me is 100% the same as described in Teresa of Vernon Hills, Il 8/22/05 posting - literally, word by word! I really regret I didn't do the search before getting excited over the lowest price! So, people, beware of this EVIL (I guess the staff was specifically trained to be rude and mean), it may save you some nerve cells!

After a short while, when I started to call my credit card company, I got a message from this evil Ben that my order was canceled and their company would graciously pick up the 7% charges... Will see... Aside from that - an hour of wasted time and high level of adrenalin...

I purchased a Nikon L1 camera on their web site for their advertised price 199.99 + shipping + tax. Total of $ 250 something? I sent my credit card info to them. I was informed thru E-Mail of the following, "We are attempting to contact you regarding your order. Please call us at 1-800-872-3143 or 1-347-394-1380 and speak to Thomas extension 242 in regards to your order " When I called this number, I was put on hold for ten + minutes, then Thomas got on the line an informed me that my order should be up-graded, he informed me that the camera I purchased was a Japanese model and would be of no use to me.

He suggested I should upgrade to a USA model with accessory kit, at a cost of $ 369.00, this he claimed was a great price and was the lowest I would find. It became apparent to me this was a typical bait and switch ploy used by this company. The reason for this complaint is to warn anyone who may fall victim to this unscrupulous method of sales. Should I be concerned with this company having my credit card information?

I placed an internet order for a plasma TV for about $1750 plus $199 shipping. Next day I got several emails asking me to call to talk about my order. I tried the extension I was given a number of times - all I got was voice mail. Nobody returned my call. So I tried customer service number. I got "Hold on" welcome. The "hold on" lasted for over 5 min, then I was asked for my order number. After I gave it, I got another "hold on" for another 5 min.

Then the story repeated itself - starting with "what is your order number". Then one more time. Last time it started with "May I help you?" I responded "Apparently not" and told the gentleman with a heavy Southern accent my "hold on" story. He promised it would be my last circle and asked my order number. I asked him to hold on - I needed to find the paper with the number. I could not afford to stay idle for 20 min and moved papers around on my desk. The rep got very agitated and screamed "I am not about to play games". I said "Be patient - I was".

When I located the number 30 sec. later he told me that he cancelled my order. When I asked why, he replied: "Because I did not like how you speak to me". I contacted the supervisor - and never heard from them again. My advice - you better spend couple dollars more, but don't waste your time on these people.

I ordered a camera from this store and recieved an email that they were trying to contact me about my order. "Subject: Important Information About Your USAPhotoNation.com ,,, Dear Customer, We are attempting to contact you regarding your order. Please call us at 1-800-872-3143 or 1-347-394-1380 and speak to Michael extension 210 in regards to your order. We are open: ALL EASTERN STANDARD TIME Sunday 9:30AM - 8PM, Monday - Thursday 8AM - Midnight, Friday - 8AM - 3:30PM, Saturday - 6PM - 10PM Thank you, Processing Department

After calling Michael - He informed that the camera I bought was not USA model and I needed to purchase other power items. I told him that this was not stated on the web site. Told him to cancel the order as I would buy from the other places listed in my search. He made statement that all the other places listed are part of his company... it all comes thru them. Been requesting they cancel my order and remove my customer information from their records.. They are not responding to my repeated emails and my account still show my data and the higher priced order.

I found dealing with USAPhotoNation.com a sad experience. I am sold a camera advertised online and assured 3-5 day shipping by salesman. A week later: It takes me 20 minutes of calling and being hung up on to finally gain the truth on 12-07 that the camera is on backorder! Then to top it off, Jamie tries to sell me a "kit" for $40 extra to assure my camera is in stock. This tactic is called "bait and switch". It sucks to deal with such pressure sales bs for a $300+ order.

The initial salesman on 12-05 tries to sell me a 1Gig card for $347! discounted to $147 because of a "package deal" -- oh gimme a break. This company overcharges on shipping compared to other New York dealers by over 200% compared to B&H's 3-5 day UPS for $10 vs their bs $25. This sucks folks! So I go to B&H, they are so courteous and helpful that I order a REAL camera in STOCK, (no backorder crap), no USAPhotoNation.com "white box" / "blue box" bs (nice try guys) folks -- just the real deal and I get a 1 Gig card from them for $70 versus USAPhotoNation.com bs $147 charge.

So these schmucks lost my $334 and the $374 they tried to leverage out of me and instead B&H gets my money -- NOT USAPhotoNation.com! And, guess what? B&H IMMEDIATELY confirmed my order and got my e-mail correct the first time. Amazing aren't they!

I ordered a Canon Powershot S1 IS digital camera at a great price. They were supposably rated as a 5 star company. I got the email to contact them and when I did, they tried to sell me something, however, they were very courteous and not pushy. I was told that the camera would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Three weeks later I called them and was told that it was on back order and would be delivered October 7 via overnight for no extra charge. I called again on the 7th to be told that the camera was not available. Then I got an email telling me my order had been cancelled. I believe that they never had the camera, nor intended to sell me it. One month later I have to start again.

8-25-05 I ordered a digital camera that was much lower in price than anyone else. I assumed that it was the camera alone with no battery, charger, software etc. but I was OK with that. On 8-26-05 I got a call from Peter. He needed my security code on the back of my credit card to complete my order so I gave it to him. He then asked me if I knew that the price was for the camera alone. I said that I did. He asked why I did not order a battery and charger also and I told him that I did not need those items. (Both the battery and charger were extremely OVERPRICED).

After he realized that all I wanted was the camera he told me that he had some bad news (I knew what was coming). He said the camera was backordered and he tried to get me to buy the entire package for $100s more. I told him to cancel the order. I knew that there was no way that they could or would deliver that camera for that price but, against my better judgement, I tried anyway. They still have the camera on their site advertised for the same price and they still have the availability as "yes."

My husband ordered a digital video camera from USAPhotoNation.com after searching for the best price on pricegrabber.com. They also had a 4.5 of 5.0 star consumer rating with rave reviews. A couple of days after placing the order they contacted me by email stating "We are attempting to contact you regarding your order. Please call...." My husband called and left a message. They called back and I had to verify that I placed the order and needed to tell them what the security code on my credit card was, so that they could ship the camera. Once I told them that, he then went on to tell me that they also needed to know what kind of battery we wanted. Either the $99 model or the $129 model.

I was confused and handed the phone to my husband. After much deliberation, they told us that we had ordered a "replacement camera" that did not come with a battery or any power source and that was going to be an extra $250. Nowhere did it ever say it was a replacement camera on the site. We assumed it was a new, complete camera. We told him it did not say anything about not including the battery and he replied "well it didn't say that it did either!" After hearing that, we wanted to cancel the order. He tried to talk us out of it, but we persisted. He then went on to say OK, but they are going to charge a 7% cancellation fee. We asked "what fee?" and he asked if we had read the 15 page terms and agreement statement when we placed the order. He started getting very rude and arguing with us telling us that we must not know how the internet works, that we don't know what the word "contents" mean, etc.

Eventually he threatened me saying we committed fraud and that the conversation is being recorded and that they were going to investigate. He then immediately hung up. I got an email saying the order had been cancelled and am waiting to see if they are going to charge me the fee. I called my credit card company to warn them of the charge and that it will be disputed. It sounded like a scam as soon as he started talking about the battery. He was very unprofessional and got very defensive when I asked him what kind of scam they are running.
