I have been trying to get digital telephone through Time Warner Cable. It can be bundled with my cable and internet for a good price. However, I was told that Farmers Telephone has a monopoly in this area. NO ONE besides FTC is permitted to offer consumers digital phone. This is ridiculous and to my understanding, monopolies are illegal!!!
Unfortunately, the consequence is minor. I cannot get the system that I desire. Instead, I am using my cell phone. This uses most of my monthly minutes on top of the mere annoyance of paying for a system (Vonage) that doesn't work 90% of the time. I would love to see the FTC monopoly lifted so consumers are able to purchase the products they desire.
