HP Scanners

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

In the past, I have purchased two flat bed scanners. Both were excellent, both still work. However, the one I wish to connect to my Acer PC is one that accepts an accessory that scans negatives and slides. I do not have the software that will allow me to do this. I purchased a HP printer/scanner all-in-one, but the flat bed is not as large as my old ones and I cannot scan negatives or slides. Is there somewhere where I can get or copy the software needed to run this favored scanner on my current Acer PC? I paid for a scanner that I thought would be transferable to other PCs, twice. I would like to be able to use my old scanner on my current Acer PC.

I was having difficulty getting materials scanned into the computer from the HP Photosmart. When I phoned for tech support, I was given a cost of $34 to get help for the single problem. The tech worked with me and we were on the phone for at least two hours. I did not get all my problem solved as he could not tell me how to prevent the scan area from shrinking each time I tried to get a page scanned. He admitted he did not know how to fix this, so for each of the 14 pages that I was working with I had to move the cursor around to get the whole page into the area scanned. I was so frustrated by 2:10AM that I had to give up. I did not get to ask how to delete the pages from the scan folder, so now cannot use the procedure that I did find out about since every time I send materials those 14 pages will go as well. Loss of the $34 charged to my card and inability to work with the HP as I expected.

Bought the scanner brand new (or at least I thought so) 2 months ago. The document handler failed.

I spent at least 1 hour on the phone with technician to no avail. HP is replacing the document handler but refuses to provide a new one, despite the fact that I have purchased a 3 year warranty. They will replace with a refurbised model. Their policy is to replace with a brand new unit only within 30 days. This is a very small business and valuable time must be spent dealing with this, to say nothing of the fact that the price I paid 2 months ago was for a brand new unit. And now essentially, I have a used model.

I purchased a 3500c scanner. The problem is that, it wants to send my pictures that I scan and want to e-mail by Microsoft network and I have AOL; therefore, my pictures will not send. How can this be corrected? If this can't be corrected, I have no use for this scanner. This seems like a drawn-out process when all I need is to talk to tech support and I had to do an extensive search to just find this. You are too hard to find.

It's even worse than Mike thinks. Obviously, he still hasn't found the right HP space.

I have bought 2 HP scanners, a 4300c and 3200c scanjets. Both broke in less than 1 year of light usage. I didn't damage them in any way. I sought help from HP online and discovered that they had tips on how to fix the different problems that they were having. I did not fix the problems. It seems common sense that HP knows that their scanners are faulty if they knew that the scanners were prone to having these problems listed online.

I'm a poor student and this cost me about a month's rent -- $300. I also need the scanner for school and my graphic design jobs. It caused me major financial and problems with school as well. I had to get another scanner to complete a job.

I recently ordered an HP Scanner for the sum of $149.00.Last month I was billed and paid $220.83 which I didn't discover till this billing cycle. Meantime, the current billing cycle has charged an additional $352.90 for the SAME scanner. I spoke to a Mike Jack who, essentially, said I purchased this $99-149 valued equipment through a plan about which I know nothing of, and to which he claims I am responsible. He refused to give me specific addresses or names for me to have my attornies to contact.I am not getting any results and would like to know how to proceed against Hewlett Packard. My credit card company is sending me forms, but meanwhile, I have discovered hundreds of fraudelent activities on internet search engines of similar incidents.
