I fell for the old "if it seems too good to be true, it is" online purchase. I ordered a dental whitening product from "Dazzling Smiles" for $3.87 on June 11, 2010. I was billed for an excess of $87! When I called the 1-800 number, I spoke with a "Clark" who then emailed me an online form to submit for cancellation. He was unbelievably argumentative, but never once mentioned why I was billed for $87 or anything about a 10-day trial period. He told me that I would receive email confirmation of cancellation within 3 hours (which I never did). I also had not received the product as yet, either.
I called back the next morning to ask why I had not received confirmation of cancellation. I spoke with "Cameron" who was also evasive, argumentative, and rude. She did inform me, however, that I should have called within the 10-day trial period to cancel (even though I had never received a product to actually try), and that I agreed to the fact that I would have to pay the $87 for a subscription of some sort. My concern is that now I have to wait for my bank to actually post the bill, and call the claims department for them to get my money back from these crooks. I have certainly learned a lesson about shady, too-good-to-be-true online purchases. I will never do it again!
