Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I had to call 3 times to cancel my subscription and request a refund. This took about a 3 month span. I never recieved my refund as I was told I would. When I called for the 4th time to find out why it was taking so long the number was no longer in service because they were out of business. I still have not received my refund which is approx $200.00

I am still owed $200.00. I have cancelled my membership and I have already returned my products back to them unopened!

Hydroderm took $84.00 out of my checking account. When called they said I ordered.

DID NOT ORDER OR RECEIVE!!! they claim I did receive this item. Need help retrieving my $84.00. I am a 79 year old man with Alzheimers Disease, why would I need this product or order it. Please someone help me as I am living on a VERY fixed income and need refund back into my checking account. Would appreciate being included in bankruptcy action against Hydroderm. Can be reached at above e-mail address. Thank you.

Living on fixed income and need every cent I receive from social security which the above amount came from.

I signed up for the Hydroderm Original Platinum Trial 8/20/08 order ID 38112140 - I received the one trial bottle and on October 8, 2008 I was charged $89.95 on my American Express and never received the product. I tried to call and later found out that they are no longer in business but yet charged me anyway.

I though I would write and provide some information for the customers who were ripped off by Hydroderm. I had an automatic monthly order set up with them. I loved the product and had no problems at all for over 2 years, then last Oct. I suddenly stopped receiving my monthly order. They didn't charge my card anymore, and they just stopped sending the product. Their phone was disconnected.

Well, today (Feb. 20, 2009), out of the blue, I received a bottle of Hydroderm in a package printed with HYDRODERM IS BACK (and Better Than Ever). There was an invoice with the bottle for $0.00, but no note of explanation. I called the number on the package, 877 312 3648, but they were closed for the day. You folks who are having problems could try calling the New and Improved group and see if they can help you out. I plan to call them next week (they are open 9 to 5 EST)to find out if my auto-order is going to resume and if the price is the same (I only paid $25 a bottle since I had the monthly auto order set up). Also, the original Hydroderm web site is still out there, but still not working correctly (you can't order anything). Maybe they will get it up and running again. I hope they can get back on track and make their customers happy again - they have a good product. Good luck!

They had the nerve to charge my account again after I cancelled it three times. I notified my bank of the unauthorized payment to them. they owe me over 171 dollars already!

I have a product that I don't want and they keep shipping it to me.. It is taking up m y valuable time

I rec. a 30 trial of Hydroderm. As soon as I got it and found out it would be 85.00 plus to keep getting it. I tried to return the unopened bottle. I called and tried to get an rmr (?) number and was told repeatedly that their computers were out and to keep calling back. Finally I told them I wanted to send back the unused product before my time allowed was up and was told I could us my inventory number and put it in the outside on on the outside of the box I mailed it in. I did so. In the mean time they had taken out 85.00 from my account and said they would credit it back in 10 days after they received the product. Well, they have never returned it.

I kept calling and got no where, asked to speak to an supervisor and they hung up on me. I began to write letters to the address in Culver City CA. There have been ten to date mailed, and the last two I got back saying address unknown. I will never be so stupid as to fall for anything like this again. I realize they are a bunch of crooks and never did intent to return my money. Now I wish I would have at least opened the product so it would have been ruined for them to re-sell. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HYDRODERM, THEY ARE A SCAM AND YOU WON'T GET YOUR MONEY BACK.

I am a widow and I don't buy a lot of things for myself, I was crazy to do this and I won't again. I have been laid off from my job and I cannot afford to loose 85.00. But looks like I have done just that. I have hopes to get it back somewhy. This company should not be allowed to operate.

Received trial shipment of Hydroderm June 2008-bank card was debited for s & h only. Another shipment Hydroderm came-was a different product in a similiar bottle but more watery than trial shipment. Bank debited 89.95 from my account in August 2008. October 2008 did NOT receive Hydroderm shipment but $92.65 was debited from my account to Hyrdoderm. I waited 2 weeks. Tried to access help from Hydoderm's website-could not log in with my membership #.

On October 24, 2008 I phoned the # Hydroderm gave me with me trial membership info. and after 19 minutes being on hold a rep. named Stephanie answered. I told her I was calling to cancel my membership. She rudely asked me why. I gave her 4 reasons 1. product didn't work 2. website terrible and unhelpful 3. Hydroderm debited money from my account 10/14/08 and had not sent any product and 4. Their customer service was sub-par. Stephanie put me on hold again for 11 minutes. Came back and told me my membership had been cancelled and I could expect full refund of $92.65 they debited from my account. When I asked Stephanie why they debited $92.65 from my account when I never received product she said their warehouse computer crashed so the shipments were not sent out. (!!!!!???)

Not only have I not receieved the $92.65 back into my account, last night 2/12/09 I notcied a company named Hydro labs from Los Angeles had debited 89.95 from my account. I have not receieved any products from Hydroderm or Hydrolab since August 2008. I have written 2 letters to Hydroderm (address given above) asking for my money.

I bought a trial product from this company and it did not meet my satisfaction so I sent it back to them. This was a trial product so they only charged the shipping and handling which I was billed for. Upon sending the product back to them, I look in my records and found that this company had charged me for a product I never recieved. At the time, they said they could not find my information and that they were having computer problems; this was after calling them four times.

After checking my credit card statement again and attempting again to get a refund of the money they falsely charged me, I have found out that this was a new company that took over the old one due to bankruptcy and have no records of my ever being a customer though I keep receiving emails about deals from this same company. So I called them up and they would not cooperate nor provide a means of help or service in fixing this problem.

All my records show my attempts at trying to resolve this problem.

I, like the other ladies on this complaint forum, have been scammed by Hydroderm. I was called in Dec 2008 by a rep from my bank about a charge from Hydroderm on my account. He said the charge had some details about it that flagged the entry. I told him I had ordered the product and that is was okay. But the product did not arrive. after 2 weeks, I phoned the 888 number that was listed on my bank statement. It was Allied Wallet credit card processing and they informed me that they had received alot of complaints about this company & they followed up with an email that it was their understanding that Hydroderm had filed bankruptcy. Allied Wallet reversed my charge for the full amount within 2 business days after my call to them. All seemed good.

Then today, 2-2-09, I rec'd an email from the NEW Hydroderm Customer Service Team, saying they were back in business, processing my order and would be charging my Visa Card. There was an email listed for any questions inquiry.hydroderm@gmail.com I replied to this email and related my distrust in them. I have not rec'd a reply.

I phoned Allied Wallet again and they stated they were NOT processing any orders that might come to them by Hydroderm and that they had launched their own investigation into the matter, they recommended I alert my bank, which I have done. So far, no new charge from Hydroderm has come thru to my bank, but my account is being monitored for that charge and action will be taken at that time. I guess, No crime, no remedy, at this point!

The consequences can be devasting if Hydroderm or any other company is allowed to keep 'yo-yoing' back and forth into business, charging credit cards and but not receiving products. No working contact number and no way to reverse my orders with them, because you can't reach them. This is definitely consumer fraud. I would join in with others who are being defrauded by Hydroderm to stop this.

The web Sites don't work, nor any phone numbers. I can't aford their product anymore and need to stop shippments.

I also ordered hydroderm and recieved my free tril very quickly. They were also prompt on sending the next 2 shipments. After that my account was charged $69.00 and I still hadn't recieved my cream 2 months later. Fortunately they did transfer the $69.00 back into my account but they still charged for shipping and handling. They did not ship nor handle anything. I want to cancel my account and get my shipping and handling back but no number works. ARE THEY OUT OF BUSINESS!?

Like so many others, I have been scammed by Hydroderm and am frustrated and angry beyond words! The money that they still owe me and have not refunded as PROMISED, by each customer service representative that I have spoken to over the past nearly 4 months now, have ALL been a blatant lie!

The order date of my free trial began on 8/28/08. The trial end date was 9/28/08. Naturally, again, like so many others have stated, the products did not in anyway live up to their claims. Therefore, I called on 9/26/08 to acquire an RMA# in order to return their products and not be charged, again as their ad states, as long as you call and request the RMA before the trial date end. On that call I was told that their systems were down so they were unable to supply me with a RMA and instructed me to call back on 9/30 at which time they would be able to do so.

I then voiced my concern that although I was making the initial call before the trial end date, that by having to wait till the 30th, the time alloted would have passed and that because their systems issue was their problem, I insisted that they promise me that I would not be charged and they did confirm that I would not be. My 2nd call was placed on 9/30 in which they did issue me an RMA# and again assured me that my credit card would not be billed, due to the problem being their's.

Well, it goes without saying, once again they did not keep to their promise and my credit card was charged for the full amount of $69.00. On 10/04/2008, having lost any trust in their customer service department phone number, my next attempt was to write them at their customer support email address, explaining the issue and my frustration of being billed when promised on 2 different occasions, that I would not be charged. Of course, they never responded to my email. And I waited and waited for the refund to appear on my bank statement.

By 10/20 I felt I had waited long enough and given them ample time to issue the refund, which is when I made my 3rd call and spoke to a rep who went by the name of Fernando at ext.8042. He apologized for the long delay due to their problems with their systems and again I was promised that I would be issued my refund on the following Friday, 10/24. Waited and waited and waited, still no refund. Made my 4th call on 11/03, spoke with a rep named Stephanie @ ext.8044 (I always asked their name and ext#) who told me that their systems were still down and that all refunds owed were now being sent to the Corporate Office where they were now being handled and distributed and said I would receive my refund the week of 11/10,at the latest. Waited and waited way beyond that week and of course, no refund. It goes without saying that by 12/05 I was fed up with their lies and virtual snowballing of me....and so I made my 5th call on 12/05, spoke with a rep named Carla, told her how angry and sick of unkept promises I was. She asked me to stay on the line while she personally walked the refund order directly to the billing department.

When she came back on the line she told me that the billing department directly told her that my refund would be issued within 72 business hours. Well, today is the 16th of December and despite her promise, still no refund!!! Today, stupid as I am, I attempted to call them again. My first call went to 800 814-5771, in which a recording stated that the number had been disconnected. I then called a 2nd # 800 840-4043...same recorded voice saying that the number had been disconnected. Called a 3rd# 800 840-6986, same recording that the number had been disconnected and I am furious!

What I do not and cannot understand is how a company as large as Hydroderm is getting away with this??? Isn't there some law firm out there who has taken this on by now and offering assistance to all that have been ripped off and lied to time after time after time? And why given the thousands of complaints filed against Hydroderm, have they not been SHUT DOWN???? What action can we the people now take against Hydroderm? I can assure you that I haven't a clue what step to take next. Am I simply to eat the loss and give up? Surely this must fit into some legal clause of being highly illegal???

If anyone out there can share what action they have taken and if they were successful, I would appreciate it more than I can say. I will check back back to this website often to see if anyone has answered my plea for help.

I ordered online the free trial of the hydroderm product. I was suppose to be charged only the $5.00 fee for shipping and handling. Well it turned out they debited the account for $84.00 dollars. First of all they attempted to deliver the product to me but I had an family ergency that I couldnt pick up the product from the post office and so it was returned to the company. I never had the product in my hand and yet they debited my account $84.00.

I called an 800 number 1-800-***-****, and spoke to someone by the name Nicole on back in November 19, 2008. She told me that she would put a trace on the returned product that she would give me a call back. I never got a call back. I went to my bank and had the bank stop any debited from entering into my account. I tried numerous times to contact someone to reimburse me the money and I never got in touch with anyone. I tried again, on December 11, 2008 and the operator said that the number was disconnected how can I get my money back? This is simply insane.

This has been very frustrating. Because of this debit on my account it affected other payments that I have made by check and the overdrafts. This company has to be investigated.

IS HYDRODERM OUT OF BUSINESS???

I have been trying to contact Hydroderm for over a week now to cancel my membership. The first day I called, there was a recording that said: Hydroderm is now closed. The hours of operations are 6:00 am to 5:00 pm PST. Please call back during business hours. Funny thing is I was calling during business hours! For the next 5 days, I called them got the same message, and went to their website. I sent them an email which the mailerdaemon returned. On the 7th day, I called again and the recording now said: This number is out of service. Are they now out of business? And who has my debit card info. Do I have to be worried about being charged and not receiving anything??

Will go to bank tomorrow afternoon for their advice. See if they can stop any withdrawals. Or as a last resort, I will have to close my checking account. This will cost me money as I will have to buy new checks.

Was offered Free Trial of Cosmetic product Wrinkle remover and was charged S&H and then tried to call and return after 7 days and was hung up on after waiting for 35 minutes on hold I called a second time and the same thing happened. This company says on its website to return do not use return to sender because it will not be counted and your account will not be credited it says only using a RMA number given by the company will it be received good luck receiving a RMA number. It is a SCAM

It was supposed to be a free trial was charged S&H plus my bank account was charged 69.95

On October 27, 2008, 05:33:11 AM, I received an e-mail notification from a noreply.hydroderm@alenareceipts.com for an order I placed for Body Shape lotion. The order id was: 4030225 and the order code was: 7299807 with the shipment scheduled to arrive within 4-7 days. My Visa card was charged $8.95 for item number: 2004010X, Full 60 day supply of Body Shape. At the bottom of the order was another program that I became enrolled in for the following Body Shape program: Product-Body Shape, Retail Price- $99.00, My Price- $49.00, Savings- $50.00, Shipping- $5.95, and Next Shipment- 12/30/2008. The customer service number is 800-, they also have another number, listed on their website.

This is the problem: Since I did not receive the product within the 4-7 day time period (I gave it additional time, 11 days, November 7th), I made a first attempt call and received a busy signal for a while. When I did finally get through I was placed on hold for over 45 minutes. At that point I spent valuable time and money, being that I used my cell phone minutes. I spoke with a representative, for her to tell me there was no record of the order information. I asked how this could be resolved, being that my card was charged, she had no response other than simply disconnecting the call.

After waiting for someone for that long to provide horrific customer service, I did not have the time or patience to attempt another call that day. However I did try for several more days, getting busy signals and unacceptable hold times. On November 14th, I waited on hold for over an hour. Again, I explained my situation to customer service, for her to tell me that there was no record of my order. I also explained to her, I did speak with someone else and the money was deducted from my bank credit/debit card. After asking for resolution, she also disconnected the call.

I feel this company practices fraudulent activities, as I did investigate them with the Better Business Bureau. They have hundreds of complaints of the same nature from the public. I did lodge a complaint, Complaint Number 98356670, to the Better Business Bureau, in California, website: labbb.org, on November 14, 2008. As of this date, I have not received any resolution. work for the Better Business Bureau, here in West Palm Beach, FL, and know we cannot put a company under investigation, but something really needs to be done. Wasted hours on the phone, money paid out for not receiving product, aggravation with unethical customer service reps, phone minutes wasted.

On March 26, 2008, I was dumb enough to order the trial for Hydroderm. Of course, I thought I had 30 days to try the stuff, but I was wrong, as is everyone else that has ordered. My order was processed on March 27, 2008 and they sent me an email (4 days later) stating all I had to do was return it within the 30 days, and I would not be billed further. BULLFEATHERS!!!

I didnt receive the stuff until April 1! I called them on April 25 and told them to cancel further shipments. A women answered the phone at Hydroderm, who at best, spoke broken English, and told me I had to return the bottles/jars before April 27, or I would be billed. They emailed me back telling me that it would take 15 days to process my cancellation. It clearly states all over the internet, it takes 2 days to process.

Now then; I ordered the product on March 26, but didnt receive the product until April 1, 2008, yet my free trial started on March 27, when they processed and sent the Stuff. According to my mathematical skills.. (when my free trail started according to them), March 27 to April 27 is 31 days, minus 15 days for them to process, plus 2 days to call them and cancel further shipments and package the stuff up and send it back is 17 days. That leaves 14 days for the trial.Wrong! If you subtract all the above from April 1, that leaves you 10 days to try the stuff out. Of course, I am thinking my trial starts on April 1, unless you check your email more often than once a month like me! I believe this should be explained on their website. You dont have 30 days to try the stuff, only 10 days!

I am going to write to Consumer Affairs, and BBB and tell them the same thing, and hopefully they will do something about the company. If enough people complain to them, perhaps they will close them down permanently!

They have my credit card information, and, according to the websites, will continue to take money out of my account, even though, I have returned the bottles.

I responded to an internet ad for a free sample of their wrinkle cream which was supposed to be free, plus cost of shipping which I think was between $10-20. Subsequently, I received in rapid succession after the first free sample, two more boxes, which still sit in my closet unopened; and they debited my account for $69.99 twice for these subsequent products I did not ask for or want!

Reported it online to BBB--the latter put me in contact with a rep of Hydroderm who wanted me to call them! I did not want to deal with them at the time as my mother had just died. The BBB said the complaint would be taken off their records if no follow-up was reported to them, I believe.

This company offered a free trial with only paying postage. I emailed them and told them their product was not for me. (I can get copies of the email they sent confirming my cancellation). A month later my bank account was charged for their product. I never received their product and I didn't know I was charged until I received overdraft notices from my bank.

Because they charged my bank account It cause several checks to bounce, costing me almost $300.00 in check fees. I am out of work because of a car accident and Christmas was hard enough, so this didn't help. I just want my money back and the overdrafts that were caused.

Ordered a Free Trial of Hydroderm eye cream and gave them my credit card number to pay $4 for shipping and handling. About month later I was billed $47 and later found they also had charged me another $53 for a further shipment of same (useless) product which I never ordered. Hydroderm.com is a division of Intermix, the company that brought you Adware and Spyware and which was prosecuted and paid a fine of $7.5 million in 2005. Hydroderm puts the part about having to pay for a free sample and being automatically signed up for more shipments monthly in fine print under Terms and Conditions at the bottom of the last order screen.

This is in clear violation of FTC guidelines for ads using the word Free and Hydroderm received a warning letter from the FDA in Sept. 2005 that they were also in violation of their rules concerning fradulent and deceptive practices concerning the wording of these ads. Why isn't this large-scale nationwide scam being publicized and shut down?

Agressively pursued company and got my money back, except for $7 for shipping and handling charges for second unordered shipment, still being disputed. Had to get a new credit card as this operation frequently comes back months later putting more charges on your card (under the name Improve Your Health) and hopes you won't notice. Also they have abusive or non-existent phone customer service, tell you that you can never get a refund and you have to ship their products you didn't order back to them at your own expense (not true, you can refuse delivery of unordered merchandise) to get a store credit for more of their stuff that does not work. BBB of CA has over 630 complaints from victims of Hydroderm for 2004 alone. They have stolen a lot of money from a lot of people.

I ordered a free sample of Hydroderm facial products, I did not receive the product until February 20, 2006. I received numbersous emails reporting to me that the product was on back order. Upon receipt, I used the product and was unhappy. I emailed them to cancel on 3/6/06 and did not receive a confirmation from them. I sent 2 more emails asking if I they had processed my request and still no answer. 3/20/06 the company charged my card for the full amount of the product - I asumed they did not get my cancellation request and that they were sending me another shipment of the product. I waited and did not recieve anything. I finally track down their phone number - not easily found, and they refused to give me back my money. Also, I explained what happened and they said it was not there responsibility to find out if the order was canceled and I should have sent back the unused portion.

I sent for the FREE trial. I recvd. the product and the info inside the pckge stated that if I didn't return the product in 30 days I would be billed for it! So, I packed everything up, went onling and got the return number as they instructed and I returned the product. Then a $50.88 charge shows up on my visa bill.

I called and spoke to one woman who told me that they did recv. my pckge but that it was missing some of the product (WHICH IT MOST CERTAINLY WAS NOT!) After much discussion with her I asked to talk to her supervisor...I then talk to Jason and was told that unless I could produce a receipt showing the weight of the package I mailed proving that all items where in the box they would not stop the charges! So, not only did I pay for them to ship the Free product to me, I paid to ship them back (all unopend, in the same box they sent it to me in!) and now even though they admit rcvng the pckg they are still billing me $50.88. Hugh, Hugh Scam!

Well, I don't recall the exact amounts for the shipping...probably around $4.00-$5.00 both ways and the bill for $50.88..So, lets say $60.00. Not including my time, gas to and from the post office, and phone calls, and increadible frustration and anger!

On April 8, 2005, I was billed $1.45 on my Discover card for shipping and handling charge for a fast acting wrinkle reducer from Hydroderm. I had seen the advertisement on TV and based on the commercial had decided to try the product. However, on April 25, 2005, I cancelled my subscription because the product did not perform according to its claims. I was given a cancellation number #CR2607268. The customer service representative never stated any return policy. Then, on my May Discover card statement, I was billed $49.95.

I called Hydroderm and they stated that I had not returned the product, therefore, I was being billed for the product. I was not aware of the return policy within 30 days and also they issue the customer a personal RMA number which they later explained to me after they billed me on my credit card. I immediately put the charge in dispute, wrote a letter to the President of Hydroderm and then received an E-mail from the company on 6/20/05 which said We received your letter and originally I was emailing to have you return the product for refund. However, you called our customer service and spoke with one of our representatives and told him you were disputing the charge with your credit card company...well once we have that information all transaction stop and the matter is handled between our chargeback department and credit card company...you had the invoice so you more than the rep knew that you ordered a product on deferred billing if you did not return the unused portion. That is exactly typed word for word as received.

I did in fact return the product and they are still claiming they did not receive it. I am not going to pay them $49.95 for a product that did not work. I do not trust their products and feel they have misled the public. Please help me in this matter. Thank you for your cooperation.

The charge of $49.95 which I am trying to dispute through the credit company. Hydroderm is not cooperating at all.

i responded to a pop-up add for hydroderm facial product. the deal was to get a 30 day trial for 3.95 shipping. when i received it , enclosed papers said that if the unused portion (they send a 60 day supply) is not returned within 30 days from the shipping date they will charge my credit card 49.95. this was never mentioned on their website. plus, you don't actually get a 30 day trial because you receive it 4-5 days from the shipping date and you have to get it in the mail early to get it back within 30 days. also when you sign up for the free(?) trial you are enrolled in a program that automatically sends you more of the product every 60 days. this, too, was not made evident in their add.

so, consumers beware! do not fall for this like i did. i am really irritated. also, you will not receive the credit unless you get an rma number(return merchandise authorization) and include it with your return. i truely belive this is a case of false advertising in several ways, but i don't really know who to contact about it.

Accepted email offer of free product with 3.95 shipping. Read thoroughly for any tricks. Not a single word about billing me, at ALL. Received product, package insert said I would be billed $49.95 if I did not return the product. I phone, and email invoice which stated the product was $0. Received email from them stating nothing would be billed.

I ordered a free sample bottle of Hydroderm skin serum for the price of $3.95 shipping. After I finished the order, a notice came that I had bought a membership and would receive a shipment every 30 days of Hydroderm. My credit card would be charged $49.95 plus $6.95 shipping. I immediately canceled out. I sent many emails canceling, but got no response from them. The free sample was 14 days worth. Nine days after I received the freebie,

Hydroderm charged my bank account $56.90! The phone number on their website disconnects me when I press the appropriate number to speak to a rep. I tried several times with the same results.

My husband is active duty Army deployed to the Middle East. We live on a fixed income. We get paid once a month. Now our bank account is messed up until we can get this remedied. It makes me so mad knowing that my husband is in a war zone defending these vermin!

I recently ordered something off of a website called www.hydroderm.com because it said it was a free trial. It signed me up for things I did not ask for. I was called earlier today, the person on the other line asking if I wanted to sign up for more products. I read the terms and conditions and decided to cancel, because they didn't seem fair to me. I called the phone number the sales representative gave me. When I stayed on the line, it hung up. When I pressed any of the three options it gave me, it hung up. I went to the website to try to cancel it, but the Page has been moved. I tried to contact customer support at other numbers on the BBB website, but none of them work. I can't cancel my bank account, because I'd get charged anyway. I can't stop payments, because I am using a Visa Checkcard. I cannot request an RMA number to return, because you have to contact Customer service numbers, that just happen to be NOT IN ORDER.

I saw they have free sample in the web site. So I fill in the form together with my credit card # to pay the shipping and handling. 2 days later I received the sample.

10 days later I received their product that I didn't order.

They say that i can return the product within one month. I am very angry with thier way of doing business.

Why they send the product without my consent. If I returned the product, I have to pay about $ 6.00 freight cost.

Also in their invoice, they said I have to pay for the freight that the product was sent to me even thought I return the product.

I don't want to pay the money, so I cancel my credit card. I am afraid they might charge money from my credit.
I want to return the product without paying any money.

I want to let people aware that if some web site said there are free sample but you have to give the credit card #, then you must be careful.

I also warn people when they received package without amy company name , you must be careful. When Hydroderm mail the product to me , they don't have company name on the box. If I know the package was send by Hydroderm, I won't open the package and return the package to them without paying any money.
I feel very angry with Hydroderms way of doing business.

I want to return the package to them without paying any money.
