I moved from an apartment in July 2006, having fulfilled all the lease requirements and cleaned up, key turned in, etc. The apartment had forwarding address and phone numbers. A year later, this company, RDI, tried to collect $215 for the apartment complex. I sent them paperwork and canceled checks showing I owed nothing. The apartment complex had never contacted me. Now this company has dinged my credit report (Experian) and my credit score has dropped 57 points. I don't owe these people anything. They have never produced anything to prove this is a valid debt. How do I get this info removed from my credit report, or get this company to correct their false reporting?
