Debt Relievers contacted me and told me that they would get my monthly finance charge reduced. I was interested in this because I wanted to pay my debt but not be considered someone who abandoned my responsibilities. I was informed that it would only cost a one time fee of $184.00 of which would be given back to me at the end of the year providing that I successfully complete the program.
This was not the case. They not only took the first $184.00 deducted from my checking account but on the next deduction they took $184.00 and only applied $140.00 to my debts which means they kept an additional $44.00. A total of $552.00 was taken from checking account over a three month period.
I started receiving letters from my credit cards that stated that i had not paid any money to my accounts this was strange to me since three months had passed. I called debt relievers and they told me a lot of things that did not make any sense. I was also told that Debt Relievers would get my monthly rates would be reduced. I began to investigate by calling my credit cards and they informed me that no payments were recieved and no request for reduced monthly interest rates were made. I
I contacted Debt Relievers and they told me they were releasing the money a total of $140.00 to my debts. I can't understand how if they took $552.00 they were only paying out $140.00. I began to get a bad attitude from several different people as they transfered me from one department to another, after about a week I was told to send something in writing that I wanted to discontinue the program but that they had to inform me that no monies would be refunded. I am having a hard time communicating with these people who were at one time available to talk to and now so elusive.
