Dr. Charlin replaced an old filling, in what was a long lived and healthy tooth, #5. The new filling he installed was not configured properly, to work with it's opposing tooth. Where there once was a concave divit, he installed a convex bulge.

It was located on the inside of the inside cusp. I complained that the filling was wrong, and he removed some of it, but it still wasn't right, so he removed more of it. It was better, but it still wasn't right. He had been using one of those little sanding disks dentists use to clean up after a job, and that's what he used to adjust the tooth.
There was no way he could get that tool into the tooth properly, in order to adjust the bite correctly. He sent me home with it as it was, telling me to try that for a while,

or let's see how this works. Something to that affect.

I wound up chewing on the other side, and all around that tooth for 5 or 6 weeks, until one night when I was eating a salad, and inadvertently chomped down on that tooth. The pain sent me through the roof, and from that moment on, the tooth was never the same again.

It slowly got more and more sensitive until I woke up one morning, with an abcessed tooth and a swollen face.

After getting two opinions from two different Endodontists, the tooth needs somewhere between two thousand and twenty-five hundred dollars worth of work now.

Dr. Charlin's attempt to canal the roots failed (he was able to canal one of the roots, but not the other), and I'm informed that his root canal will have to be done again, as it is inadequate.

There is a possibility that I will need an apicoectomy on it as well. And then, of course, the tooth will have to be crowned.

He also tried to charge me for his work to correct his mistake. I'm livid that he is arrogant enough to actually try to get me to pay him,
and I'm emotionally rocked (he has been a good dentist to me for 5 or 6 years), and my physical pain was significant.

And the work to correct the problem is still to be performed. It begins on August 20, with Dr. Loong C. Lin as my Endodontist.
