Consumer Complaints & Reviews

My 5-year-old son went to Dr. Fielat a year ago. He needed several caps, so we paid $1800 for "natural-looking" ones on top of the anesthesiologist fee. It was the most horrific experience; he had a huge shot in his calf muscle to put him to sleep and then the surgery was performed. An hour or so later, he came out with a tooth pulled which was not discussed and horrible-looking white and silver caps. I was furious, so I called every day for 2 weeks to complain. But nobody would take my call.

In the past year, after this awful surgery, my son has had to go to another dentist whom I love and got 3 of those capped teeth pulled, because the bacteria was never removed from the teeth before capping. Due to the negligence of Dr. Fielat, my son has now had to go through even more pain, and on top of all that, he now has no molars on the right side of his mouth. We have also had to pay out another $1500 in expenses to try and fix this problem.

Beware of this dentist. He should not have a license. He is a horrible man to have done this to my son. And on top of all that, I have found several parents having the same complaint! I feel for all of you out there who have had the same problem. My only suggestion is to come out and say something. He should not be getting away with this.

About 4 years ago my oldest daughter required a filling which Dr. Fielat performed. The next year the tooth became abscessed and required an extraction at an additional cost. We thought this was just a case of bad luck, but when my youngest daughter also had a filling worked on, that tooth also became abscessed about a year later. Now we are wondering if this is incompetence or intentional. Our new dentist said the tooth is infected because when the filling was completed all bacteria was not removed. My daughter was treated with two different anti-biotics to remove the infection before the tooth could be extracted. Since the infection was so bad, the anti-biotics could not completely remove the infection.

Since the tooth is now abscessed standard methods cannot be used due to the sensitivity in the gum surrounding the tooth. My daughter now requires deep sedation requiring an anthesiologist at a cost of $600. The pain, discomfort and stress my daughter has to endure are my main concerns. I submit this complaint with the hopes that other parents will not subject their children to sub standard services Dr. Fielat provides.
