I have seen Dr. David Lavian as a regular visit once after an accident that I was involved in. My mother paid $50.00 for that visit, as he told us that he will charge $50. That was about 6 years ago. At that time my attorney's paralegal asked me for medical records from the last family doctor that I have visited and he was the last doctor that I have seen, I have only seen him once just for the related accident. My mother refered me to him as he was her primary doctor. And later my attorney asked for my record, I told him I have seen doctor Lavian and it was a regular check up. My attorney secretary asks for a copy of the record.
After my attorney contacted him for my medical records a week later I received the $500 bill for that one visit from that date. I called Doctor Lavian and I went with my mother and we showed his secretary the reciept and I took a copy to my attorney and I told my attorney not to pay Dr. Lavian for the fact that I have already paid for that visit at that time. The case eventually was closed. Minus attorney's fees I collected only $2,000 for the physical damages. Last week I received a letter from Professional Collection Consultants requesting me to pay $506.85($500 + 6.85 interest) from Dr. Lavian. I am not going to pay that amount as I have already paid the dues for the visit which was $50. I paid for my doctor's visit and I owe him nothing. Now I am affraid that he will ruin my credit because of this matter.
