I went to her office to remove unwanted mold from under my eye. Her assistant took me to the room and started to do eye exam (she sees me wearing glass) and I thought it was part of my consultation. After 30 minutes more of waiting, I get to see the doctor for about 5 minutes and she told me what she can do to remove the mold. When I got my EOB, she has billed my insurance for office visit, eye drop and vision exam. I told her before the surgery that the insurance does not pay for eye exam, but she told me not to worry as she will take care of it.
A month later, she bills me for eye exam that was not done by her or given Rx for glasses and contact lens, which I wear 80% of the time. I have eye insurance and was willing to give it her to bill, but she said see can't give me Rx for contact lens because she's not licensed. She did get paid for consultation and eye drop (which she gets over paid for 5 minutes with me) plus the surgery itself. Now she puts me in a collection for $55.00.Why are we letting these kind of doctors bill us for something that was not to do in the first place? I came to her for skin removal. It has nothing to do with my vision and it doesn't affect my vision. Just because I have insurance that doesn't mean they gonna pay or I'm gonna pay for something that I did ask to do. Now I have a low credit score because of her action. She makes a false claim to my insurance and she did to be liable.
