Among several items taken to be cleaned was a bright yellow jacket of a Dana Buchman 3 piece suit. When I returned to pick up my cleaning this item along with all the items on that particular ticket were not ready. I inquired as to why I had not been called to tell of the cleaning delay as I was leaving on a business trip and intended on taking some of those items with me.
Upon my return I went back to retrieve the items. Upon seeing me a young lady behind the counter said "You are the lady with the damaged jacket". I was baffled as no one had mentioned that the delay was connected to anything going wrong. When I saw the jacket, I was speechless. There was a large faded spot and hole on one side. I was informed that the owner was out of town but had advised them to offer me $60.00 for the jacket.
I left without the item and asked that the owner give me a call at my business number upon his return. One week later after not receiving a call, I returned. I was informed that the owners message to me was that the $60.00 offer stood and if "I did not like it I could do what I had to do."
As stated above, I had intended to wear the item to an out of town business function. The jacket is part of a 3 piece suit. Because of the unusual color, without it the rest of the suit is worthless. Dana Buchman is a top designer name. To offer $60.00 for the jacket is not only an insult but totally unacceptable, considering the cost I originally incurred. Not once was I contacted to be told that there was any damage. Not once has anyone even attempted to contact me to discuss the issue.
