I am unemployed and the EDD (employment development department) sent me to CIT (College of Instrument Technology) to get trained as an OSHA CERTIFIED HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR LEVEL III. I began this training on 02/23/2009 and will end on 05/01/2009, EDD is paying to CIT the amount of $7,000.00 Dollars for my training and at the end of this training I will be qualified and ready to find a good job.
This is my 5th week attending this school and unfortunately I am not learning anything because of the very poor teaching system they have. About 40% of the time I am watching very old boring videos, about 30% of the time I am reading a book which I can not take home until I get to chapter 13th, about 10% of the time listening to the classroom instructor (HAROLD DURBIN)who never prepares his class in advance and does not know how to teach, and about 20% hands on in four very old machines (Two of them have no breaks), hands on trainers are Harold Durbin who does not know how to teach and a fresh graduated from this same school.
This is a SCAM, they do not do what they promise in their false publicity, including their website (www.CIT-la.com). Some of the students already communicated this matter to our EDD counselor but she told us that she can not do anything at this time because Harold Durbin convinced her boss that we were not telling the truth.
I am very sure that after graduation I will not be able to find a job because of the CIT poor training system. I have talked to other CIT students and they feel the same about this school, they do not know who to report it to, but I will tell them about this website and I know you will be receiving emails from them as well.
I do not understand how the owner (HAROLD DURBIN) gets away with this; every Monday three or more students start attending this school and the EDD through this program called WIA pays thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars to CIT and no one will be employed as a heavy equipment operator after graduation because of lack of training.
