I was lied to. When I decided to start a program, there I was about to sign all the paperwork when I realized I was being given a loan that totaled 14,000 dollars. I then asked why. I was a single mother of 2 who was on medi-cal, cash aid, etc. I filled out all the papers; she told me so that I would get grants and financial aid so why was I being asked to accept a loan of 14,000? She explained to me what I qualified for then and assured me that come the next January, I would go back to see her and she would give me all the paperwork so that I would get financial aid to pay off the $14,000. I believed her and took the loan. I was so desperate to get somewhere in life and get off welfare so I trusted her. I should be able to trust her but when I went back, and I went back about 10 times, I was told every time that the money was going out in September and I was set to graduate in October, so I got no money. I asked and asked why I was told I would and no one could tell me anything. even when I mentioned I failed a class so I would be in school in September, I was still told no.
