In March of this year, after seeing an ad on Monster.com, I contacted CTS. The ad stated that CTS would provide training in Payroll Administration, and that after successful completion of their program, hire you to perform payroll duties for clients they would secure. This employment offer was a guarantee in writing.
The class, which was supposed to complete in mid-July, finally finished on September 21st. The written guarantee of employment stated that we would begin receiving clients within 3 weeks of "graduating". Additionally, at the time I registered with CTS in March, I was told that they had clients "waiting for the first graduating class".
This was reiterated to us throughout the class. Well the culmination of this $520 7-month adventure is that CTS never had clients, and is now going out of business (or trying to start up under a new name to avoid all the hundreds of students that want their money back.)I was laid off in March 2002, so my time and money are extremely precious to me. I lost my $520 investment and 7 months of my time.
I also purchased a new computer monitor and printer in preparation for the home-based employment, totaling about $1000. Additionally, I will have to cancel a contract on a new home and lose a $2500 downpayment. One of my fellow students actually had her home go into forclosure because of her not getting this job as promised.
