I tried to refinance my home. After being told how good of a company they are by explaining their 'A' rating from the BBB, they could not even come close to the figure they stated the first time we talked. They would not send any info on the loan but wanted me to sign with a notary present. Then she would overnight the forms back and even stressed I had 3 days to cancel. But when they finally did send the forms, you could not read them because they were blotted out in the places that had the cancellation section. After finally seeing what they blotted out by holding it up to a light, it would cost a couple of thousand to cancel. They even stole $300 off of my credit card (that I will never see again) and if you now try to call, you will only get an answering machine.

Comporium, my local phone company, has begun charging 7 cents a minute for calls in my area code that are more than 40 miles from their office. This is more than twice what I pay for long distance. The problem is, they have a monopoly. I cannot get any other phone service at my home - not cell, internet, wireless - nothing. I thought Phone company monopolies were being dissolved. Is this legal and what options do I have?

My husband works in Hendersonville, 52 miles away, because there are no jobs here in Brevard. These exorbitant "local" charges cost us over $38 last month. I cannot even afford to call my husband at work if I need to!

I have overdraft protection with 1st United Services Credit Union. I recently used my ATM card and wrote checks not knowing I needed to transfer money from my savings to my checking account. I went online to check my account. I discovered they charged me $25.00 for each transaction which totaled $250.00. 1st United Services Credit Union should not let the charges go through. By not authorizing the transaction. I would have known to transfer money from my savings to my checking account. I am truly disgusted by 1st United Services Credit Union business practices. I don't feel I have been treated as a valued customer.
