Financial Plus Federal Credit Union

Flint, MI

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On several occasions, I have to call the credit union to do business and each time I've had successful events. For example, when my purse was stolen in Detroit and a check was written on my account, the credit union stopped payment on the check and returned my money back to my account. I've made car, van, RV purchases and each time, the credit union has had the best financing offers. I would highly recommend this credit union to anyone. I've been with them since the age of 10 and now I'm 49. This says something for them and I have lived in other cities and even now, I have always done business with this credit union.

I deposited my check [over $500] and when the receipt printed, it said I had a balance of only [$200]. It gave another [smaller] amount for the available balance.

Before that, I received an overdraft statement in the mail that said that I had overdrawn on the account and was now at a negative balance. The same statement indicated that I had made a purchase on my birthday [I was home on my birthday and did not go to a store when I went out, I went to work].

Nevertheless, for the $30, there is an overdraft charge of $25, which also applies if you go over by $1.

That is a huge interest rate for this apparent extension of credit.

[should be noted: This credit union allows other companies to withdraw from your account even after you are no longer in business with them or if you never asked for that companies business. They then demand that you ask the company to replace the money. They refuse to do anything when the company refuses.
