New Jersey Higher Education. monthly payments of $50.00/month paid as agreed to. when payment were late by no more than a week, a phone call was made to nj higher education and it was agreed as long as payment was in by said date no punitive action would be made. A month later a garnishment was made against my paycheck in September 09 for nonpayment. NJ higer education that I had proof of payment, I was told in order to stop garnishment I had to send a $200 payment thru official payment. I sent it that day.

I called the next day and was told the garnishment was a computer clich and a letter had been sent. Human resource did not get the letter until I called the better business bureau. The money was never returned and they are trying to garnish my wages again. 30% on a loan bal of $1062.00. Car engine and transmission gone broke rent late because I had to get another car and now 30% of my check is gone. I can't make it like this all funds are exhausted I rely heavily on my check and to get a $600.00 check after 2 weeks of work is insane and unjust.

A garnishment was made against my paycheck in March 09 for nonpayment for nov 008,when nj higer education ntfd that I had proof of payment, I was told in order to stop garnishment I had to send a $400 dollar money order. I sent it that day.

I called the next day and was told the garnishment was a computer clich. When I asked where did the money of $270 dollars that was garnished from my paycheck went, they responded it went to a bank in California and maybe some would be sent to them. I asked since I sent $400 dollars and I have been on time would I be caught up and they said no.No one seems to know where my money has gone or did it go to my student loan.I was told if another garnishment was put on my oaycheck they would not be able to stop it. I told them it was their fault I had made all the payments & called when I was late to avoid garnishment.

I am unable to pay my rent, utilities for the month.I may have to move in with my mother because I only make 1000 every two weeks.
